Call the payroll clerk and ask what happened. I do payroll so I know things can happen. I took a vacation and told my boss how to upload payroll, he uploaded an old file and paid direct deposit to the office staff that was already paid instead of to the union employees. So on payday not money so they all called, he had to hand write checks to all of them since it was to late to upload payroll it needs done the day before. |

This happened to me once and I went into payroll, all guns blazing. It turned out to be the half-wit in the bank who had entered my details incorrectly.
Needless to say, they gave me as much money as I needed and no charges.
If your bank has come into the 21st century yet, ring them now and check. |

No, you work for your money and should get it when specified in your contract, contact your payroll department or accounts (who ever deals with this) and keep on at them until this is sorted, make sure that you tell themm that you expect to be refunded for any fees charged by the bank for returned direct debits and whatnot. |

Have you not been given any reason why you havent been paid? Your employer will be obliged to pay any bank charges your incur, but i would ring the creditors that are expecting money and explain why just so they can make a note and not put you down for a default |

it's the year 2008 - after so many years of work and getting paid you'd have thought that problems like yours are extinct.
obviously nothing has changed from years ago and the reality is is that, i can imagine, lots of people have trouble getting their wages from their employers!!
people = hassle
worse thing is, after reading some answers here is that YOUR the one who's gotta spend hours on the phone, waiting around offices blah blah blah and so getting yer wages is costing u time AND money
but u shouldn't be pissed off about it - things could be worse - you could be in hospital for a kidney transplant and they take out the wrong kidney!!!
now that would be someting to be pissed off about
