Person P | Paypal Help Please? |
Ok. Here are the questions then all the details I can think of.
Q:
1) Do you need a credit card to use paypal?
2) How old do you have to be?
3) Can i do online "jobs", like doing surveys for a separate company, and then transfering the money i earned from them, to my paypal?
Details:
1) I don't have a credit card im willing to use online ( because for all the fraud...)
2) I've never used paypal, so any info would help.
3) IF #3 actually is possible, i would ask you to tell me the website names and URLs.
Thank you |

Have you actually gone to paypal and read their FAQ's?
Secondly, I have been approached by scammers to use my paypal account to transfer monies for them..so be very very careful.
Paypal is similar to a bank account, except I think transfers take longer there...
Hope this has helped.. |

1. No you don't need a credit card. But you DO need a valid bank account. Once you have created your account on PayPal you need to click on the "profile" sub-link and add/edit bank account information. You will enter in the bank name (for instance, Wells Fargo), your routing number and account number (all of which you can pull off a check). Once you've set up a bank account and "confirmed" it (just follow the steps) you can send or receive money through PayPal.
2. I don't think there are any age restrictions on PayPal. If you're old enough to have a credit card then you're old enough to use PayPal.
3. You can only have money transferred INTO PayPal if the company you did the survey's for uses PayPal too and is willing to direct-deposit (just like direct-deposit into a bank account) into your PayPal account.
I don't know of any survey companies that pay you for your time. I subscribe to a couple that don't pay me so I'm no help there.
Watch out for 2 scams:
If the company wants you to put up an "initial investment" then don't do it.
If you ever receive an email supposedly from PayPal, but it doesn't contain the greeting of "Dear [your full name], and telling you that if you don't verify your information your account will be suspended, it's a major scam and don't fall for it!
PayPal and Ebay ONLY send messages to you using your full name in the greeting. They will also ALWAYS tell you to log onto your account from a secure browser, NOT click on a hyperlink from within the email. These are major scams and you should watch out for them.
Good luck to you! |

You can set up Paypal against your bank account instead of a credit card. That's what I do. I think you have to be 18. |

1) no credit card required, but usually they will want some bank acct info as an alternative....it is actually safer to use a credit card than give out the bank info though
2) you have to be 18yrs old
3) You can deposit directly to Paypal for things like doing surveys, but only if it is a payment option through the separate company. Lightspeed (survey company) will do this. |

You only need a bank account to use paypal, but have to be willing to give paypal that info. I think the age limit is 16, and I don;t know about the online job thing. Most online jobs are scams anyway, so watch out there. |

1.) Yes (or a credit/debit)
2.) At least 18, I think
3.) Not that I know of
I have had a Paypal account for at least a year now, and bought a lot of stuff off of eBay, and I haven't had any theft/fraud problems. That's your decision, but Paypal is a safe system. |
