HI,
I have just sold an item for £250 in ebay and the fella who won has paid via paypal. It says that the payment from him is completed so i requested the funds are transfered to my account. The status of this is pending. Does that just mean it is waiting to be transfered? I understand it will take 5 days.
Am i safe to send the item or is there still a chance something could go wrong? I had to relist the item twice because of scammers so am quite nervous about sending the item until the payment is acutally in my bank. Is the wait going to be acceptable? |

When paypal has it its yours. Its pending because it takes time to leave paypals account and go into your personal bank account.
I think its safe to send it but you could always email the guy and tell him you are going to wait until funds clear. He should be okay with that |

when you transfer the money to your bank account, it takes 3-4 days, so when it says it's pending, that means paypal is in the process of contacting your bank and the bank is recording it, etc.
As for shipping, it is safe to send it because once the money is in your paypal account, it has been cleared and is completely yours and it is safe to ship the item; if anything is going to go wrong, it will be the transfer between his paypal account/credit card to your paypal account.

i sold a mobile fone for 211 quid, buyer paid with pay pal, funds cleared in my account, i sent the mobile fone 1st class recorded deliver the same day, plus order the ps3 off ebay i wanted,
then 8 days after the sale, pay pal froze my account, the guy i sold the mobile to claims he did not buy it.
my account was in the red with pay pal,
in the end i lost my mobile , got th ps3 but pay pal took the funds from mybank account of 102 pounds which id what this left me over drawen with them.
the GOLDEN RULE WHEN SENDING ANY ITEM
the address in the email you got that says you got new funds from pay pal, make sure the buyer is confirmed address, if so send it your cover if he says he never got it, keep the slip from the post office untill the buyer leaves you feedback or confirms he as what you sold.
ALWAYS send items to the confirmed address in the email from pay pal.
also check the buyers feedback see if they have good feedback and what kind a stuff they have bought in the past.
see if they have picked anything up in person like a car or out to big to post, read the feedback they got for it.
as for the funds taking time to clear,
that is normall it always takes a few days to go from your pay pal account to your bank account before you can withdraw the cash.

Once payment is in your PayPal account, it is safe to send product.
You have 7 days from date of payment to send the item, as required for your Sellers Protection. If you wait pass the 7 days, you will lose all Sellers Protection through Paypal. Also, make sure you send it to the address associated with the buyers PayPal account, WITH Delivery Confirmation. It covers you in all bases, in case something should come up.

Hi. I wouldn't send the item until the payment is marked completed in Paypal. You can send the item then even though you will not have access to the money until it has cleared through your own bank. Most people do not mind waiting but you could email the buyer to explain. |

check on your paypal account and on the transaction i should say COMPLETED also clic on details it shoud tell you if theres a hold on the funds if not the transaction was made instantly by the buyer and he is also a veified buyer
but its always normal to have a waiting period on you bankd transfer .. the fastest way is to request a paypal atm card from paypal that way youy can with draw funds the same day and it's better too |

I would wait if i was you until the money was safely in your bank, especially if you have had scammers trying to buy this item of you before and e-bay is full of them. |

We ran a Paintball business both on the web and Ebay for two- years and the majority was through PayPal. Our policy was don't ship till the money was in our bank. You can ship once the money is in PayPal if you want but if for any reason (real or imagined) they challenge the merchandise Paypal will hold your funds and that can take up to 30 days. |

Pending payment is where the Pay pal group have stuffed you into their payment system and they generally wait 3-4 days, not because it takes that amount of time, more that they save money on making the payments, favouring Bulk transfer saves them money as they would have to pay per transaction like you have to with pay pal...
For 15 years now the banks have still pulled that crap line about it takes 4 days, utter cobblers, it takes a matter of seconds to get to the recipients bank, the bank then sits on it, Pay pal are doing the revers by sitting on it and then transferring it. |
