Oryx | Paypal service fee? |
I read that there's a service fee charged to the seller for anything bought with a credit card, debit card or buyer credit but is there any other way to pay someone through paypal? I don't use it much but I was under the impression that those were the only ways to pay. Additional Details Can you please read my question carefully? I'm getting a little sick of all these responses that aren't even close to answering my question.
Thanks |

When I buy something on ebay, I pay by a direct bank transfer to the seller, i.e. money directly from my checking account to the seller's paypal account, so no debit card or credit card. I don't know if the seller gets charged a fee for that nor not. |

There is a fee on PayPal to the seller, what you can do is put money in PayPal like a debit card or you can use a bank account to pay, I don't think you get charged for that. |

Paypal is free for the buyer, but all sales are a percentage (somewhere between 1.8 and 2.5% I believe) plus .35 cents per transaction. See www.paypal.com and you will get an accurate answer. |

I don't see any problem if your the buyer, as the buyer there is no additional cost to you.
If your the seller, you can choose to make payments any way you want, cash, personal check, money order, postage stamps. etc.
But as a seller that accepts Pay Pal payment, you have the choice. The first level is to accept cash only and there is no charge. The second level is to accept credit card payments or cash. On this level there is a charge for both cash & credit transactions.
The main reason most transactions take place through PayPal is the convience, and safety. This is for both buyer and seller!
All the other payments come with inherint risks, for both parties and shipping is slower.
Hope this helps! |

The only way to avoid PayPal fees is to have a personal account there rather than a seller account. |
