Only with a court order of judgment against you. They will say any thing to collect. you must get a to appear in court and then the judge will rule in their favor. |

Send them what you can. If it's $10 a month, send $10 a month. As long as you are showing good faith and an honest effort to repay the loan, then there is nothing they can do to you. Your credit will, however, be effected and they can continue to ad interest. I don't however, think that they can legally garnish your wages. Check with your state attorney's office and see that the state laws are. |

Just tell them that you can only afford to pay them X amount every month and that should take them off your back and put it in writing to protect yourself. |

Yes they can and will! Offer a payment arrangement and stick to it ASAP! I have just mailed a payment while they threaten and it has been enough to stop it. If you have to appera in court it will look good to the judge that you are doing something. Carefeul too! My job had a policy (in small print) that if you have so many garnishments that it was grounds to have you job terminated. Good Luck! |

Yes I'm sorry to say they can. Have you called them and tried to explain your situation and set up some kind of alternative payment plan?
They will usually work with you on just about any level, if you will contact them before they are forced to take action to get paid.
One word though, if you set up the plan they will want to be able to directly deduct the payment from your checking account. This poses for you, in the future, potential problems with your bank if the money is not there for them to deduct. My bank charges a fee for this kind of thing and you have to be really dedicated to keep the amounts in there at the proper time for payment to be made.
Just think to yourself that not having it is not one of the options you have and sacrifice, and get it paid!
These people will haunt you until you do! |

Proabably so!!!!! Get out and work, hun! You wouldn't want them to garnish your wages, over a credit card you haven't paid, would you ? Try thinking of something that you can do , to get the money to pay it off. Next time, don't use so much of your credit card if you don't absolutly KNOW that you have the money to pay it off. GOOD LUCK!!! *Best wishes* |

Yes they can and without warning, too. I've done payroll
for several business, and they have NO choice in it, and
do not even have to tell you it's being done. One day, you
just don't get a paycheck. CALL THEM AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS
TO PAY AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT EACH WEEK!! If not, you could
really get sc****d. |

I used to work for the Ba$t@rd$! Call and ask to set up a payment plan. If you owe the money, you have to pay. Do it or it can mess up your credit for years. That's okay if you're young, but it will affect you for later purchases for years.
If credit card companies don't collect, they sell your debt to a collection agency (for about half) and those are the guys that mess up you credit if you don't pay. In return the collection agecy gets to keep you money.
