Take out a home equity loan, maybe? Or there are some loan places that you give them the title to your car and they will give you a loan... when you pay the loan back they will give you your car title back. Here is a link.

HSB and Capital One are generally good for 2nd chance cards but they will have such a low limit that it may not help much. (Capital One keeps them under $1000)

It looks like you may have exhausted all the traditional routes for money so let's get creative:
-do you belong to a credit union that may be able to help you get a loan?
-could your church/temple/religious organization help you out short term?
-could you hold a yard sale or take unneeded items to a thrift store?
-could you get an advance on your pay from your employer? Could you borrow against future vacation or sick time? (Talk to HR, not your boss)
-could you or your husband pick up a few holiday shifts as temporary employees in retail?
-you mentioned that your husband is in school, could he pick up a little extra $ by tutoring or proofreading for other students?
-can you take a loan from 401k?

I've been in your shoes before. Wherehouse.com will buy your used cds and dvds if they are in good condition. (I made a few hundred from them this year.) Half Price Books will buy your books. (Not much money but every little bit helps).

I keep seeing people mention prosper.com here. It's supposed to be a peer to peer lending place. I don't know if it's legit or a scam but it may be one more place to check out.

Good luck!

Tell you husband to go to McDonald's, they will put him to work the very next day. Exactly HOW long has he been out of work?

The next day you are at work, you need to sign up for short-term disability, that would have paid you money while you were out sick.

A mortgage company is not going to foreclose on you just because you miss one payment. It will ding your credit, and will ding it every month until you pay the arrears. Focus on your utilities, those will get shut off sooner.

Keep in mind, that you just destroyed what was left of your credit score by "applying for every credit card you could find online", and don't be suprised if you just gave your social security number to websites that were probably not legitimate.

Every single time you apply for credit, that is an "inquiry" and it can harm your credit score by anywhere between 3 and 10 points EACH time you apply.

You are permitted 3 inquires per year without dropping your score, and inquiries stay on your credit FOR THREE YEARS.

Since you have been married several times, I would caution you against taking out ANY joint credit with your husband or anyone else until you get your own cleaned up. That means nothing besides the house..no credit cards, no checking accounts, nothing!

Learn from past mistakes!

Please try this, we were having a hard time and this did work out for us. call each place you own money too, and explain to them your problem. most will try to work with you on things such as this. the reason is that they will rather lower your payments and get less than to have anyone lose everything and declare bankruptcy, for they will lost out also. so most will work with you. just explain your situation to them. the only bad thing about this at this time. is because it is Christmas as a lot of people tend to spend more than they have. so this is also making things hard on them. if you talk to them, try to make sure you are not just talking to a secretary or someone that is told to say 'no, because that is what they are told to say. but talk to someone who does have authority and will understand your problem. in this way they will work with you. a secretary can not help, for they are told what to say, and can never make a decision on something such as that. also,it will be best to talk to them in person, a person is more likely not to say no' to your face. but over a phone, they can say no' and it will not bother them. but we have found that some of these companies, will even let you ship a payment if you will offer to pay them a payment and a half each month to make up for it. there are many ways they can work this. just talk to them and see what they can come up with. some will divide your payment up into fourths and add them to the next for months payments.

But please stay away from credit cards, the interest is way too high. we do not use credit cards at all. we stopped using them about 15 years ago.

Good Luck,

I think your husband should look at a getting a part time job until he starts his new job. Maybe you should look at picking up a second job for awhile. Best of luck and happy holidays

Getting another credit card is just going to get you deeper in debt. Im sorry about your situation and i will pray for you and your kids. There are other ways to make money. You could apply for a watiress job and get the tips and then quit. Just think about your options. Maybe someone will cosign for you for a credit card in your family. Best of luck

Capitol One usually give second chance credit.

Is there nothing you could sell to get some extra cash to see you over to 18th.

Also try motleyfool.com as they give good financial advice.

It might sound stupid, but pray. God will help you, but you have to have faith.
