Are they still doing this??? I Had problems with them years ago, I ordered the special offer books and paid for them, then they kept sending me books I didn't want and did not order. In the end I wrote to them (keeping a copy of the letter) and sent it recorded mail. I told them any books they sent me I will NOT return, but will keep them until THEY send someone to collect in person. If you are really worried go to your local council, they usually have a debt councellor who will advise you the best thing to do. If not the C A B (Citizens advice Bureau) will give you advice.Address in the phone book. Don't panic. and if you are sure you don't owe money, then don't pay anything, they will have to prove you owe it. If a dept collector comes to your home, tell them you will get your lawyer to contact them. |

yea, I had problems with them, but I kept all my letters, got receipts for books I returned and kept a copy of all the letters I wrote, (8 in all)
they finally listened and realised I was right, but I never had an apology, and I still get invites from them to join again |

Hi, sorry to hear your problems. I was a member of world books some time ago, and had a few issues as well. All I can advise you is to stay calm and document your correspondence with them, ask them what you owe the money for and if you have paid send proof of this IE bank statement, just black out all the other items on it. If it was for a book not received them put this in writing. Don`t back down as you are in the right, and mention that you know your local paper is interested in doing an article as they have a couple of other people with issues. Also check your home insurance as some policies offer free legal advise, or CAB to know the best way to deal with them. GOOD LUCK |

Yes I had terrible trouble with them, they said they had sent me a set of Harry Potter books which they hadnt and I had never ordered. I was threatened with debt collectors etc., in the end they backed down as I had never signed for anything, but it was a nightmare that went on for months. |

ive had no end of trouble and its a nightmare getting hold of then. i ordered some books about 7 weeks ago and after three weeks they arrived,,,wel a box with my name arrived ,, inside were books i hadnt ordered so i rang them and they said they wud get them picked up, they did pick them up and then sent me a bill for mine. i rang them and they said they had sent mine. i said no you sent someone elses. they have sent me three bills. im not payin it. i rang again and said cancel my account i woant nothing from you... eveery time i ring i get a foreign person on the other side of the world that hasnt a clue wot im telling her. my advice it dont pay and tell them to explain in plain english in writing wot they think you owe and why. good luck |
