Can you get a loan to pay off the tickets, and then work to pay off the loan? The secret to happiness is not to get yourself into messes like this, and driving responsibly is a good first step.

"Can't get job"?

Well of course you're having trouble getting a job--you have a negative attitude and mixed priorities. Separate yourself from your problems and be an individual. Don't be an extension of your problems--prospective employers don't like to see a desperate person.

Also, don't be picky on your applications. Apply for a job everywhere--if you're truly that desperate, no job should be beneath you. Apply at McDonalds if you have to--any job is better than nothing. Worst case scenario, enlist in the military. Yeah, you'll probably get stuck in Bush's pointless war overseas, but at least you'll be earning money.

You have got to stop saying I cant.... Yes you can get a job even if you have to walk, it will look better walking to a job than sitting at home telling the courts that you cant do anything. They will work with you if they see you are trying.

Go to legal aid and social services . Someone can direct you to where you can get help. Legal aid is available to those without money.

There are lots of jobs out there (lawn service, construction, etc) that are done "off the books". They pay cash and they don't ask a lot of questions.

If you have time and money to be on Yahoo Answers, then you have the time to get out there and find a job.

You need to go back to the dmv in your state and begin by applying for a provisional license that will let you drive to work and back. If not you need to pay a friend to help you get back and forth, move closer to a job and walk/bike, take a bus....

There are lots of options if you really want to get this started; and it's going to be one step at a time.

Might also call the local Legal Aid for legal assistance.

sell things that you own in a grage sale, on ebay, craigslist etc...
ask fmaily or friends to loan you the money
get a loan from your bank
do chores for your neighbors to make money.....

Eartha Q
You need to get to a legal aid office, where no cost and low cost lawyers work with young people in crisis. Check that out.
You will be surprised how fast your problems disappear with a lawyer behind you.

aj_squaredaway
Geez dude, I don't know what to tell you? Don't they have like centers in your area to help you find a job? Other than that you might want to borrow some money from your friends and relatives.

Tapestry6
Call up Legal Aid its in the yellow pages under attorneys you need help to stay out of jail and they will most likely be your last resort. There fees are based what you can pay and right now thats zero.

Even if you dont have a driving liscense you can still get a job! You can take a bus, walk, or even ride a bike. Just stop saying you can't and actually have some faith in yourself! Good Luck!

It's easy to panic in a situation like yours, but stay calm! You are no doubt facing some desperate times right now. I don't know your situation and it sounds like you have alot of unknowns coming at you. Do you have family that would help you with transportation to work? Maybe a neighbor would help with a ride in exchange for yard maintenance, or some other kind of work.
In my state, judges are more lenient when they "see" you are trying to better yourself with a job or volunteering. Donate some of your time to homeless or to the Red Cross to show compassion to others. This may help with the court cases.
The number one thing to remember though is that God is in control of all and he WILL be with you through all of your troubles if you will just ask Him to be.

There is always a way, if there is a will

Take a look at the industries around where you live. There may be a McDonalds or convenience store that is near by. These types of jobs are always available. They may not pay much or be glamorous, but if you need a job any job will do. Also, try looking into getting a construction job. You can usually make more doing this type of work.

As far as having no license is concerned, try getting a ride with a friend or using public transportation. Once again, I know that does not seem glamorous, but you do what you have to when times are hard.

Things will get better, just hang in there.

Good luck

Maybe the law is different in the US from here in the UK, here, a creditor cannot send you to prison for non payment of debts. If you have a house, they may be able to take that from you, if you don't the worst they can do is apply to a court to have a "warrant of execution" awarded against you. If they get that, then they can ask a bailiff to visit your house, the bailiff will pretend that he has the right to enter your home, but they don't. If you do not allow the bailiff entry to your home, they cannot come in. If you allow them in, then they are legally allowed to seize any goods you have in the house, or they can make a list of goods and come back any time to seize them or even to force entry. If they get in, they will ask you to sign a "walking possession order". This gives them the right to enter again any time they want. So the best solution is not to allow them in to start with. They cannot force entry, they can walk in through an open door, climb in through an open window or over a fence. They can force entry to a garage or any other outhouse, but they cannot force entry to a domestic residence.

You need to negotiate with your creditors. Make a list of your earnings and outgoings, request that they freeze interest payments and make an offer of how much you can afford to pay them monthly. This can be as little as £1 per month, even if the debt is £100,000.

The best thing to do, is appoint a debt management company to deal with the creditors on your behalf. If you are here in the UK, I can recommend one to you.

If the law in the US is so different that you can be thrown in prison for being unable to pay a debt, then maybe you should think about going to Miami and get a job crewing on a yacht bound for Europe.

I think I understand. Your drivers license are suspended but they are also expired. So due to the new laws no one can hire you with an expired drivers license.

1. Go get a state id then you can go to work.

All I can tell you is that you need to move back home. My daughter did the same thing over a $10 and a $20 non-moving traffic violation traffic tickets when she was 19.

It caught up with her a few months ago when she had lost her purse with her birth certificate and drivers license. It was a nightmare, she could not get a job for about 4 months. She was climbing the walls because like you she had one court date after another.

It took 4 months for her to get a birth certificate because of an error in recording when she was adopted. To date she has paid almost $2,000. And still has another $600 to go.

Here is my advice:
1. move home and get family to help.
2. Go to legal aid.

Many people are having to give up their homes and their jobs all across the United States for this very reason. You are not alone. I know a young couple in Texas who lost their home and moved in with his grandmother. They could not get to work and could not take their son to daycare.

You are in a very bad spot, but you will get through it.

If moving home and getting family help is not an option.

2. Go to Legal Aid they will appoint you an attorney and hopefully help you get a state ID.

These new laws are crazy. This has been so incredibly frustrating for me and my daughter because she has tried so hard to work around this new insane system.

Don't forget that you can also call or visit your State Representative and State Senator. I finally had to go to them in order for her to even get a state ID.

Good Luck

I'm worried about you, you sound so desperate. I was worried about my daughter through all this too. She was so down. Feel free to e-mail me or instant message me if I'm on line.

When this is over you will be a stronger person and you will be able to reach out and help someone else in this same position. From the postings here I can tell that many of these people are unaware of the new laws and road blocks that the government has set up.

There is always a way out.

Not all jobs out there require a driver's license. I'm not sure what type of job you are looking for, but there are very few jobs out there that absolutley REQUIRE that you can legally drive. I didn't get a driver's license until about two years ago, and no job ever required that I had it to get hired.

Maybe trying going through a work help company that can apply at jobs for you, they get a portion of your income, but it's a start. At least you can set up some sort of payment plan with these legal judgements against you, which shows intent to pay.

If you skip out on your court date, or just say that there is nothing that you can do, the courts are going to think that you didn't try hard enough. Sometimes it's hard to take on a job that's less than you were used to, but if you want to stay out of jail, it's worth it.
