Should I pay it off all at once?
I have a credit card that was cancelled. (We had a rough couple months) It had a very small limit on it. $300. There's $150 left owing on it, and my husband and I are having differance of opinions on what to do. I want to pay it off completley and get it out of the way, he wants to make a couple smaller payments thinking that would be better.

If your husband thinks that making regular small payments will improve your credit, I don't think it will in this case. If the card has been canceled just pay off the remaining balance and move on.

Pay it off immediately if you can. This reduces interest charges on the account.

If this is a really low rate, just pay the minimums on it, and use your money to pay off higher rate cards.

there is $ 150 left.

Pay it off immediatelly and forget that thing.

good luck for you ...

Pay it off and keep away from C-cards

I am guessing with a limit that small they charge a huge interest rate daily. Pay it off.

Contact the company and see if they would take a smaller amount to settle the account and get it out of your hair!

If I were you, I would just pay it off since it is a small amount. I don't think making small payments will make a difference in your credit score since the card was cancelled. Cancelling the card, is what in my opinion will affect your credit score, since by doing so, your available credit to debt ratio was reduced.

Pay it off. Otherwise it will cost you more. Credit card companies make money on interest, late fees, and overlimit fees. To avoid interest, pay it off.

well, if you can put the $150 to better use like making more $$ at the rate more then the credit card interest rate, why not pay it off later?

however, if you cant do that, i would strongly agree with you to pay it off asap. the interest rate would cause the money you own to be more and more.

it is not healthy to be on a bad debt, and if you really determine that such rough times dont come any more, i would suggest you to read RICH DAD POOR DAD by robert T. kiyosaki. the book is not a manual or a guide, but it will open up your context to gain a better finanical future.

Hope to see both you and i, both rich soon! =P

making smaller payments on time would be the BEST way of doing it because it will increase your credit score.... payment history counts 30% of your credit score..... good luck to u

If you have the $150, you are much better off just paying the whole thing off and being done with it. Credit card companies charge interest every month, thus you will owe several more dollars in interest next month if you don't pay it off now. (Assuming you only pay off $50 and you have 15% interest rate, you will owe an extra $15 dollars to your credit card company next month....why pay the extra money if you can afford to pay off the whole thing now??)

Hope this helps
