i need to fill out a contract and it requires a signature.
Its a housing contract and i need to pay over 200 dollars, i need to send this out today before a certain time but my mom is in a different state and she gave me permission to use her credit card. This contract was faxed to me, would the contractors care?
They know i'm in a different state because of my fax number and i would assume that they know my mom isn't around me. should i forge it? the deadline is in an hour........... |

If your mom gave you her permission for this purchase to use her credit card and to sign for her, that's fine, use it...that's not wrong and that is not forging. She's aware that her credit card is being used and that you are signing it for her for your housing contract.
If it does get reported, she'll be able to say that the charge was permitted. If you're worried about it, call your mom...she'll be able to put your mind at ease about it.
BUT if your mom didn't give you her permission to use her credit card AND signature for this particular purchase, by all means, DON'T do it!
It sounds like a dorm housing contract. I'm sure your mom will understand that you need to live in the dorms for the next semester...just call her.
Could you borrow money from a friend and pay them back? If you're concerned or uneasy about this option, find another one. |

If your mom gives you permission to sign on her behalf, then it's alright. It's only "forging" if you do not have permission. Make sure you can do a good job copying her signature. The company may note that it doesn't look the same, and they may call your mom to verify the transaction. Tell her not to worry if she receives a call; it was only the transaction that she allowed you to make. |

Is the signature they need actually for the credit card payment or the housing contract? If the signature is for the housing contract, you need to sign it. If it's for the credit card payment, fax it to your Mom to sign and have her fax it back to them. |

im going to say no, put your own sig. I had the same experience, they later like a month later call your place asking for your mom and tell about the signature, and she will have to confrim that you had to sign it. |

Even though you just said, your mum gave you permission to use her credit card, let your mum know what just happened.
If she still says go ahead.. than just do it.
The contractors don't really care to be honest. As long as it signed. You don't have to provide ID... |
