If the relationship is new - no way.
If you've been together a few years and all is going strong - sure. BUT it would also (for me anyway) depend on WHY they need a co-signer. Is it because they neglect to pay their bills? Because they don't have any credit or very little credit? But are financially sound, steady job, trustworthy etc...
The reason needs to be considered a lot. I don't care if it was a spouse, lol, if their credit is bad, I'm not signing jack! |

The golden rule of co-signing--as long as you can afford the payment all by yourself, if you cannot--DO NOT CO-SIGN. The title should be in both names. |

No. What if you break up? What if she doesn't allow the payments to go through? Your credit will be severely damaged.

No. No. No. I'd co-sign a loan for my child, if s/he was buying his/her first car, and that's it. After the first car, I would expect my child to have built up enough of a credit history to be able to get a loan in his/her own name.
If your BF/GF needs a co-signer, this is an indication that s/he has made very poor credit decisions in the past, and might default on this loan. Don't do it. |

I wouldn't EVER co-sign someone's car loan. You should at least talk about what will happen if you break up: will they sell the car to pay you back, will you keep the car if you finish the payments? So many things can go wrong you should just encourage your s.o. to buy a car they can afford now. |
