Small Claims Court. Apply to them and tell them the situation. Also tell this person you are doing this. In all probability they will pay you back before it goes to court to avoid this going on their record, but if they don't (and you have reasonable proof) you will receive it back by going through the courts. you can take them to a small claims court, or you could inform the catalogue and they will take the debt off your books and try to recover the debt themselves that's what i did with a bad payer |

Are these items for a person other than yourself, if so ring the catalogue and advise them that it was a customer that has had good and not paid they may be able to advise you, I know they will probally say sorry not my problem, but ask to speak with the supervisor/manager... and explain that they will not pay you, and get them to help you.
if that fails apply to the small claims court, easy forms to fill in, the court will help you as well. Its doesnt cost that much and if you are successful with you claim you can get back your fees, But make sure you declare the costs at time of filling in the form.

You can issue a court claim against them easily online using www.moneyclaim.gov.uk - if they don't respond you can obtain a CCJ against them and have bailiffs attend their house and so on. Bear in mind though that the process isn't cost free and if they don't have any money you won't recover any. You can also follow the process at your local county court who will have a range of leaflets to help you decide what to do. |

You need to go to the Citizens Advice Bureau. There you can pick up a small claim form. This is a claim for anything under 2000 (I think!) It allows you to claim without having to employ a solicitor etc. The only catch is if they contest the claim they can make you attend the small claims court in the region where they live, not where you reside. It only costs about 15 quid to do all this (or it did when I last looked into it about 10 years ago). My brother has used it recently to get his damage deposit back off his ex-landlord. I have recently won a case in Ireland using their system and my claim was against Apple. They used their Cork address despite the fact that I bought my items on-line. The law hasn't quite caught up with modern retail yet.
