I still have my card. Nobody apart from my card provider knows my PIN (not even me) as I never use this card for drawing cash. The cash was drawn from a town I have never visited.
I think I will get a refund from the card provider but they won't tell me how this fraud is possible

it happened to me too...but mine was debit card...
here is my case...
i live in SF, and i have my debit card with me all the time. Someone in Chicago used my so-called fake debit card and withdrew money from a ATM machine in Chicago (somehow they know my account number and pin number) Anyway, the bank found out a few hours later; it closed my account and refund me the money.
this happened to a lot of ppl and money was withdrew from all over the world.
What i heard is that customers' data was stolen from certain big companies....so that's why so many ppl were affected by it. |

I had my id stolen too. Some1 decided to rent a council house and claim housing benefit in my name. The council came round to my own house and nearly threw me out of the home i've lived in for 7years. They wouldnt tell me how it had happened either. Its a terrible thing to happen. And could be done so many different ways.
I hope you inform every1 banks etc. And get it sorted out soon.

There are a number of possibilities.
You may have had your card cloned at a false-fronted ATM. If you can, use the same machine each time and check it for anything unusual. When away from home, use the ATMs inside the bank or building society.
You may have had your card scanned at a till. Never let it out of your sight and be especially suspicious if the check-out drops it or lets it dip below the counter for any reason.
You may have bought goods on-line and some spyware has picked up on it. Update your security software and clear out any spyware before making purchases. |
