Sounds like a real bottom feeder agency. Whatever you do, DO NOT do electronic payments over the phone...they could raid your checking account. NEVER accept verbal agreements over the phone that can't be backed up in writing....If you accept a verbal agreement over the phone, once they have your money there would be nothing to stop them from coming after you for the remaining balance of the loan...without a written agreement you'd be powerless to stop them.
Sounds like they are not giving out their address for a reason...They only want payments on their terms....Tell them no written agreement = no payment....
Read up on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (below)...Remember, they have no power to have you arrested or to take your firstborn child...do not let them scare you with phony threats into giving them your checking account number... |

Never heard of a collection agency refusing to give out their address. The letter you received from them should have a mailing address on it, even if it is a PO Box (look on the envelope too).
You could always send a letter to the addresses listed on their web site, just be sure to send all letters via certified mail and return receipt requested. |

Funny, they can not give out an address.
Can you write a letter to the original creditor? Sometimes they will take a settlement.
Just send a letter to the head office, state that you want to make payment arrangements on your account, but need a written statement with an address, account information and direct phone number.

Never agree to what they are proposing and never verbally haggle with them. Tell them that all communication from them has to be in writing, period. Then hang up. |

Sounds like your son received a call from a real bottom feeder agency. Whatever you do, DO NOT give them a payment or disclose any personal information until they can validate the debt and provide you with the necessary information you requested and that they are required to provide.
You should read up on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) which can be found on the Internet. |

I would report them to the better busines bureau. Also report them to the state. You have a right to know their address. You can even request in writing that they not contact you by tele0phone, but by mail. good luck. Don't give them anything until you get their address. Get everything in writing |
