If you quit, it is your CHOICE to leave and you are generally not eligible for unemployment.

It is generally reserved for firings and layoffs.

lol, If you quit, you cannot draw unemployment. Only under certain circumstances can you get fired and draw unemployment. You should speak to your employment agency about these.

Good Luck!

Little Miss Naughty
You can not collect unemployment if you quit a job!

I worked for UI before and generally layoff/being let go is what gets you UI but not in all cases. Some quits do qualify for UI benefits but its a very narrow gap. Also, being fired doesn't guarantee you benefits either, it depends on the situation.

You have to be fired, I'm not sure what state your in so I cant tell you the regulations for it, I know in maryland you have to have been with your job for at least 6 months, you cant have been fired for showing up late, leaving early, stealing....ect, it's more for cases such as, being laid off, being hurt on the job...ect, do a google search on unemployment laws in your state....hope this helps!

cherokee_jack
You can only get it if you are laid off without malice, or reason. If you quit, you don't get it.

In which country?
You can get unemployment check if you get laid off, if you quit then it gets little difficult in USA.

RowanSilverSkye
Get yourself fired if you want your benefits, quitting makes you ineligible!

sandoz
generally speaking, if you quit you won't be able to collect unemployment. If you get fired you may be able to get it and you may not -a lot depends on why you were fired - if you get laid off - you probably will get it.

Chocoholic
Fired, let go, laid off....... However there may be stipulations depending on the State, employer, your working status, and the length of tenure.

If you quit, it is voluntary and thus you will be unable to pull unemployment.

If you quit you may not be eligible to collect unemployment. It all depends on the reason you quit. Usually you have to be layed off or fired to get unemployment.

Pengy
If you quit you will not receive it at all. If fired would depend on the reasons you where fired and if the company fought it. Not showing up, insubordination, bad work ethic, bad performance, not being able to do the job, lies on the application, drinking or drugs on the job, or tested for are all reasons to for dismissing an employee and them not being eligible for benefits

you don't get it if you quit. but you do get it if you get fired through no fault or your own.

To get employment he/she will have to keep a close watch by seeing newspapers/bulletin/ and direct approach to the concerned according to their qualification. If one tries to get employment sincerely definitely he/she will get it. They should not keep quite. They need not be feared. But they should not expect higher salary at the very first stage. Whatever the salary may be they should accept it. They will get at least experience.
