AFTER RECEIVING THE MONEY FROM THE COMPANY, I HEARD THEY WERE ON RIPOFFREPORT.COM. IM DEBATING CLOSING MY CHECKING ACCOUNT (AKA: NOT PAYING THEM BACK). WHAT IS THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN? WILL THEY JUST SEND IT TO COLLECTIONS? |

all they could do is take you to court and get a judgement against you for the amount and if your state lets garnishment then they could et that from you next time look everything over before signing your life away with one of those over priced loan palces |

It will be reported to collections, your wages can be garnished (even if you didn't give them employment info, they can still find out if and where you are working) and/or any future tax refund can be garnished. The WORST that can happen is they file with the DA's office and you do jail time. It will be a long time until you can get any decent credit or possibly ANY credit. Ripoffreport is a company. You have to understand that every one has problems with most companies at some time or another. Just because one person (or several) had problems with the company you got the money from, doesn't mean YOU will. I'm sure there are several people who sing praises about how that companies services helped them out in a dire time. So if you are not having issues with the company, be responsible and pay them back as promised.
And for the future...payday advances are NEVER a good idea. Its a vicious cycle that is set up to make you fail because then the company can recoup more fees. Its also set up to keep you in it because again...it gains the company more fees. |

The check in advance has nothing to do with your credit. I wen tto them for a while thinking it would help my credit. When I spoke to the woman about it she said they have nothing to do with your credit report. Thus they can't lower it or raise it. I went to check n go. It was vicious cycle that took 6 months to get out of but I did pay it all off. It's just you get one then you have to pay it off then you have to get another b/c you don't have enough to pay your bills with and the cycle starts. Good luck
My boyfriend cancelled his account. They keep sending letters for the past 6 months and tried to repeatedly send it to the account but it was closed. Doesn't seem like much is happening to him. |

I would advise you to be careful.. These companies have a special set of rules which they must follow.. In actuality, they are lumped in with pawn shops and other businesses which deal on different credit terms. Because they have your checking account and routing information is definitely an issue. The larger question is how much money did you take from them. Please keep in mind, that you can end up paying nearly 4000% interest or higher on these.. As I stated before, these places headquarter themselves in Delaware, Maryland, or in the Dakotas because of the lax consumer protection laws... I would urge you to pay this back. They do not necessarily need your social security number to be able to report you to the credit bureaus. Keep in mind.. One negative item can easily lower your score 50 - 100 points. These companies are less than reputable companies. Congress held hearings on these kind of "pay day loan" companies in 2006. After which time, the industry conceded they would make their terms more visible and be more stern on how much money you will truly have to pay..
These companies bask on the opportunity to collect a huge return on their investment. If you read your fine print, they probably have something in there, where you will be charged attorney, collections, and court fees..
For instance, a $500 pay day loan could end up costing you 10,000 when all is said and done... My advice is to get money from another source and pay them off.. If you cannot do that, then pay more than the principal payment due.. Interest is always recalculated on the amount due.. Also, check your state laws for "usurious" interest.. This means is they charge too much, the loan becomes illegal.. Be very careful in the future of dealing with these places. They do not promote the consumer's interest, but their bottom line..
Feel free to e-mail with any questions.. |

quite a bit of jail time, and a bad reputation for anything you plan to do in the future |

They will send it to collections and continue with all legal recourse until you pay it back. I would just wait until it is paid and then close the account. |

Close it. What they will do is call you several times a week asking you to make payment plans. So instead of playing their game, which means you make a payment each payday and paying astronomical interest on your balance, they will stop charging the interest and take $50. payments a month to pay off your original balance. Yes, they may send you to collections but if you send them the $50. a month they likely won't. |

You agreed to the loan conditions when you got the money. Now you want to welch on repaying. What do you expect to happen? |

It is very risky getting into short-term credit deals such as pay day advancing. Unfortunately, you now owe that company money and it will need to be paid back; otherwise, your credit will deteriorate. That company can send the bill to a collections agency or fight for it on their own. In this case, I would just watch the transaction(s) that occurs with this company very closely until you're in the clear. But, I am curious: have you researched this company yourself at ripoffreport.com? |

Not only could they send it to collections but also put a freeze on your checking account for the money owed to them. |

Realize that they have lots of power and that they could destroy your credit. When you go to get a loan, the next company will charge you extra interest which will more than offset any money you owed pay day. Also, it will be impossible to get a loan if you haven't paid them back. This can cause you a lot of problems should you need expensive medical treatment, an educational loan or a mortgage. Best to pay them back and learn a lesson.
A criminal tenant of mine stole his rent money back from me. He was the only one in the house at the time, but he denied it. I kept his security. The police wouldn't arrest him for the theft because they felt they couldn't prove it, so the criminal sued me for his security and he won the case. My credit report got dinged and my credit score went down and I ended up having to pay higher interest charges. |
