go on to a website called moneysupermarket.com

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/

you can search for credit cards on there depending on your need eg 0% on balance transfers or purchases

if you chose to apply for a card the website will also take you straight to the page you need to do so.

If you plan to pay it off in full each month, then it doesn't matter.

If it's free to get and use, is Mastercard or Visa and you pay it off in full every month, then fine. If not, steer well clear!

Moneysupermarket.com can help with comparisons.

I use Marks and Spencers' Mastercard, because I get points which I can trade in at the store for yummy food things.
The quick and easy things are a special favourite since we have a tiny boat and they are easy to heat up/put together on board, while the picnic dishes are great for eating while moored up to a canal bank.
I do have it paid off every month directly from my Bank so pay no Interest.

only get a credit card if you have a card already. transfer the debt to the new one that allows you 0% interest for 16 months and pay it off. DO NOT BUY anything on it or you lose this privilege

well, i don't know if the UK even has credit cards because it's a poor country.
but usually american credit cards like VISA, AMEX, or mastercard are available everywhere. it's best so stick with VISA or mastercard because they work in most countries.
