That is just in case the balance from your gift card doesn't cover the full amount of the purchase. I will suggest you to call instead of making the purchase though the internet, and also ask the representative if you can qualify for free shipping, sometimes they work with you. Good Luck! |

If you know that the money on the gift card will cover your expenses (including shipping), then there is no reason for you to punch in your credit card information (just your shipping address). However, if there isn't enough to cover the charges, then yes, you will need (and therefore would be charged) to enter your credit card information.
If you know that your gift card will cover everything, then you should only have to give the card's number (pin, etc.). If you know that something is wrong, locate the contact button on their website or from their cataloge. Then you may talk to customer service, & they can place your order for you (I always thought it was easier this way). On their site they also have a place where you can click on "frequently asked questions." Maybe that will help you too. |

It might ask for your credit card as a back up payment in case your purchase exceeds the gift card limit either because of taxes, shipping, etc. Let's say you have a $50 gift card, then make sure the cost of the item you are getting is $40 or below because you need to leave some funds available to cover taxes and shipping.
Other than that, before you rush to give out credit card info to close the transaction just call customer service and find out policies and protocols on gift card purchases. |
