Barclays Natwest and HSBC use Solo, Switch, etc for their debit cards.

if you are over 18, and have a current acount with any of the following UK banks then you can have a debit card:

Lloyds TSB
Halifax Plc
Nationwide
Alliance & Leicester
Abbey National

I would recommend LLoyds tsb personally. since all the whooo haaa with there charges being in the papers they have been nothing short of wonderful.

Barclays definately offer Visa Debit cards. I know because I have one myself.

If you cant get one it may be beacuse of your credit rating. Try checking your file. Information on how to do it with the 3 major credit reference agencies is here-
http://www.flmloans.co.uk/credit-file.php

You can also try getting a visa credit card and using it like a debit card, by paying in more than you owe and keeping the balance 'in credit'. If you are also being turned down for a credit cards there are companies that will work to get you approved for one. Try-

I thought most banks do. Try Lloyds TSB. I think you have to have a certain income going into the account each month in any bank. Check out their website though.

Try the Halifax. They offer a moneyback visa debit card if you have wages of over £1k paid in per month so potentially you could make a bit of money whilst you're spending. You get 1% cashback of the total amount spent on your debitcard at the end of the year. I bought a car on my debit card and earnt £65 for doing nothing. Go to www.halifax.co.uk for more info.
