Very little difference between visa or mastercard. Less places take american express because they charge a much higher interchange fee to the retailers than the other two.
Although after saying that...at the moment you can get 5% cashback for 3 months on a platinum Amex. I've got one but will go back to my other cards after the 3 months is up.

Def visa. If is accepted in more places than mastercard and american express. Less and less businesses are taking amex now because they take so long to pay up.
