That was probably a pretty common system called "verified visa" as mentioned by few posters before.
You can double-check this by going to VerifiedByVisa.com and, where it says "Activate Now..." Type in your card number. The next screen will ask you to enter the username and password you set up. Then you can view past transactions. If the NewEgg.com transaction is there (it might take a few days to show up), then Voila! Mystery solved. |

no...assuming that your card is a visa and thats the verified visa screen...its another step of protecting you
i shop at newegg.com all the time and they use that verified visa system like alot of other merchants now...when you use it for the first time it asks you to set it up with exactly those things you had to give...so you should be good....keep an eye on your account though just in case |

VERIFIED VISA .....maybe next time you should read the instructions a little more throughly before you enter it all and then wonder...it actually clearly states that it will make a "test charge" |

Contact your credit card company. Contact the company that you had a transaction with. Newegg is pretty ligit as far as I know. Google CYOTA INC. I already did you will have your answer if its a scam or not. |

Instead of wondering call your credit card and directly ask them. This way you will know for sure what is going on. You wont be worried. Plus, you could safe yourself from getting scammed.
Tell them what happened and ask if anything is showing up on the account. |

may be, perhaps you wan't to call your bank and closed your account and get a new card. Something similar happened to me about 6 months ago I got a small charge and I didn't mentioned, couple of day after that my account gor dried. Be careful contact your bank agent ASAP. |

I would call the company that made the charges, if possible. Sometimes companies make a "test" transaction to make sure that your card is valid, and then take it off again the next day. Sounds like this company does, but i'd keep an eye on your credit card, especially if you have the convenience of checking it online.
Good luck! |
