I cant tell. I tried using my debit card to pay for a meal but it was declined, the guy let me take it out and out it in another 2 times but it was still declined. I went outside and got some cash from the machine and everything was ok.
Im just wondering...with all the card scams going on, how would i know if my private info is being stolen. I think he had restarted the transaction but im still not sure!

Speak with the bank that issued the debit card and find out if any charges were made to your account. Another option is to check your credit report to look out for unknown charges and accounts. |

Although McDonalds has been heavily criticised in the public eye for it's unhealthy fast food culture, it nevertheless remains a hugely reputable word wide brand.
Robbing peope from their debit cards is not something they have built their global reputation on. Don't get me wrong, i'm no advocate of McDonalds, but I doubt they would employ any underhand tactics or scams to screw over their customers. If they were caught doing that, they'd be slaughtered by the law and publically by the media. Therefore, they would have too much to lose conducting any wrongdoings against their customers.
Having said that, if money has been taken wrongy taken out of your account, then contact your bank immediately and they will no doubt reimburse your costs quickly.

i think you should keep an eye on your finances cos you never can be too sure but i worked in a shop and sometimes its just the machines crashing... it shouldn't have took any money off you.. you are right to be suspicious but hopefully it was just the stupid tills it happens all the time and sometimes it can be your bank lately i cant seem to do anything with my card except use a cash machine |

Check with your bank to see what transactions came out of your account. This has happen to me at more than one place of business and I get nervous when they ask me to run my card more than once. |

Ring up your bank, they will be able to tell you which transactions have been put through. If they have put it through more than once they'll help you claim it back. |

If it was a chip/pin machine you would have seen message that said decline.If it was swiped you need to check your bank account. |

If you've got phone bank phone them now and go into transactions that will tell you straight away. Failing that phone your bank in the morning and find out from there. If you're on your own you will have no proof that you didn't purchase anything else.I would contact the police now and have it checked out if you really think there is some kind of scam going on. |

easiest wayto check is for you to check your own bank staement, you,ll know then if his machine was knacked or he was up to no good. could be mucky d,s network was having their own on-line problems |

Next time ask them to show you every stage of the transaction. You are most likely to be OK considering the intelligence of most Maccy D staff. This is not to denigrate those who work for that august establishment. It is to throw into stark relief the standards of one of the world's worst employers. |

It is possible that their service inside was having problems. I used to work in retail and saw it happen often. They use an authorizing company to process a transaction and if they lose connection or the authorization company is having problems that will happen. |
