I got one with HSBC and they didn't ask for anything and the interest rate is good too- avoid people offering loans like the one above- the interest rate will cripple you. A credit card is a better idea. Mint is also a good one, another one that never asked for ID or proof of income. And like Steven says- use it carefully. |

UK proof of ID is usually passport or driving license, recent bills in your name or bank statements. Some ask for more, some for less.
Capital One and Vanquish will give cards to anyone but whack on a 39% interest rate. If you are in a good job then the lowest interest rate is currently on the Paypal credit card https://www.paypal.com/uk/mrb/pal=X6R7C84YS8EBC at only 12.9% whilst the average seems to be around 18-19%.
Take a good look around and mind what you do with it. You've got to pay it back. |

The best credit card is the one that you don't sign up for... !! Be smart with your credit, if you don't have a steady job, a bank account/checking account then don't do it.. You'll regret it. If you have all these things then good luck and spend wisely.. |

I dont think you will need proofs if you are applying by post but you do have to have a checkable work address and good credit. oh and your addresses for the last 4-5 years. |

from working in a bank in ireland, they always asked for photo id (passport or driving licence) and proof of address (driving licence, bank statement, electricity, gas, phone etc (not mobile). think some ppl want ur pay slips aswell but i cud be wrong about that. |

not really, you just need an address and a bank account, and they do a credit check on you. |

You need a social security number.. thats it.
When you fill out the application they will ask for it. Thats how lenders track people. SS number is the most solid form of ID there is.
Of course most banks wont give you a credit card unless you have a job and a residence of some kind. |

You don't need any to apply but they may or may not require you to fax in some documents to verify your information. |

If you have a social security number, you can apply (and be approved) for a credit card. But you'll need a photo ID (in most cases) to actually use your credit card at a store or retail establishment. Usually, a drivers license will suffice.
