Damiens Bride Nov 2009 | Ways to rebuild your credit score? |

Start by cleaning up your credit report. Then, build credit by adding positive information to your record. Here are two suggestions:
If your credit report is missing accounts you pay on time, send the credit bureaus a recent account statement and copies of canceled checks showing your payment history. Ask that these be added to your report. The credit bureau doesn't have to add this information, but often will.
Creditors like to see evidence of stability, so if any of the following information is not in your report, send it to the bureaus and ask that it be added: your current employment, your previous employment (especially if you've been at your current job fewer than two years), your current residence, your telephone number (especially if it's unlisted), your date of birth, and your checking account number. Again, the credit bureau doesn't have to add these, but often will. |

If she has $500 in a savings account, convert it into a secure credit cars. Most banks can set it up. Also make sure they belong to the credit bureaus. |

Making loans and carrying balances does not establish credit.
You can do this for free - without paying a penny interest.
Get a credit card and pay it in full each and every month. This will give you top notch credit that will amaze loan officers. No loans required.
I know what I'm talking about, these people don't. You DO NOT need a loan to establish credit and you DO NOT need to carry balances. Carrying balances actually can destroy your credit if too high.

Pay off all your debts on time. Also, pay car loans and mortgages in a timely manner. Your credit score will go back up little by little. I did this and my credit score went from 500 or so to the 750 range in a couple of years. I felt great and no more debt! |

there are two ways you could start credit one or them is taking out a small personal loan which you might need a parent or an adult to co-sign for you meaning if you do not pay the loan they will. Or you could apply for a credit card for bad or no credit which most likely will get you approved no matter what, but if you are a student you could get a student credit card which will offer you lower rates and no annual fees, check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under bad or no credit or student cards. good luck |

I don't know much about credit scores but this is what I would do if I wanted to fix or raise my credit score.
1. Is go out and buy something cheap such as a $300 flat screen or a computer (something you can afford to pay off with cash when you buy it). The trick is to buy in with a credit card. They will see that your friend is making payments on time and BAM good credit. Your friend is going to have to do this acouple of time over and it could be years before his/her credit is in good standards.
Like I said before I don't know much but hopefully this helped. |

good credit is generally based on the ability of a person to pay slightly more than their minimum payment due and to pay this amount off consistently over a period of 12-months or more
so if the bill arrives and says the minimum is $10 then pay off $15 instead. never pay off just the minimum because lendors may feel you can't afford anymore than that and they will be afraid to raise your credit limit.
and despite what most people think- you should not buy something that's $100 then pay off the entire balance the next month and keep doing that every single month. we call this "revolving credit" and it's not considered a good spending habit for someone to "borrow" $100 month and pay it all off the next month and keep doing it. it establishes no credit worthiness whatsoever- it just shows lendors that you have the money already and are just spending it on frivolous items- so why should they raise your credit limit if you already have the $100 every month?
also make sure you don't max out your card. if your card's limit is $1,000 you should not have a balance of more than $800 on it.
you could see an improvement in your credit score in as short as 3 months - however creditors will want to see this improvement carry on for 12+ months before considering you for a bigger loan/larger credit, lower interest rate, etc.
most importantly make payments on time and consistently. never make a late payment and never skip a payment. these cause flags in your credit rating that can take up to 7yrs to be removed from your credit history. you could improve your credit score in a a couple of months but it only takes one month of missed payment to wreck it for the next 7yrs. however if you happen to miss a payment or pay late, ask the credit card company to waive the fee and they might do it for a first time "offense" - and they could not report it either (but don't count on it)
good luck to your friend.
and if you think you're credit is okay then you should call your credit card company and ask them to lower your interest rate. their response will tell you exactly how good your credit is. |

well she could try by getting furniture, rent to own and keep up on the payments. get a car note and keep up on the payments, or see a financial advisor |

Unfortunately it's really hard to bring up a bad score. Negative information stays on your report for 7 years. Best thing to do is for her to pay her bills on time and for more than the minimum payments. Eventually her score will improve. |

Take out a loan on something and pay the monthly amount. Pay your credit card off monthly. It's a slow process. |

Pay her credit cards before deadline and do it monthly. |
