This site is not free - they will ask for credit card. The right site is http://www.annualcreditreport.com - here you can get a free credit report from each of the three credit agencies once a year. So do not get credit reports from all three at the same time. Every 4 months get from one of the three - this way you can check your credit file 3 times during a year. |

www.annualcreditreport.com gives you all 3 credit reports once a year.
But you have to pay extra for the FICO score. For the score I would suggest Experian. |

Also once you get your report if you have issues you would like resolved or help raising your credit score, then visit the following website for that kind of help:

If you want to check your credit score, you need to go to http://www.myFICO.com, not annualcreditreport.com. annualcreditreport.com only entitles you to your free credit "files/reports" which do not include your scores.
myFICO.com, which is run by Fair Isaac who developed the algorithm, runs the site. It does cost about $15/per score from each of the 3 bureaus, but google "myfico discount" and you can find a coupon for up to 20% off the score price.
FICO scores are the only scores that lenders use, so don't bother going to TU, EX, or EQ and receiving the FAKO scores they give you.

The website that you mention is NOT free.
If you have a Washington Mutual credit card, you can safely obtain your credit score for free from http://www.wamucards.com.
There is also a class action lawsuit that may result in a one-time free credit score disclosure to class members.
If neither of these applies to you, then you will probably have to pay to obtain your credit score.
Credit reports, without scores, are free at http://www.annualcreditreport.com. |

I believe freecreditreport.com is safe (I've used it several times) but if you are still unsure, go direct to transunion.com, equifax.com & experian.com - all offer either credit score checking or full reports. |

i would go to annualcreditreport.com. It if is your first one this year it if free and about $8 for the score. The other sites say they are free but are not. This is where my parents go and i just got my report yesterday. It is very detailed and had all these cool things and lets you see your payment history. I like this site a lot.....Hope i helped...good luck |
