I am is dieard need of a credit card and I need to know what is a good one for a student with no credit and no cosigner? thanks.

Your best (and safest) option would be to open a checking account and then get a VISA debit card. The debit card works anywhere a credit card would, but you will avoid the high interest rates and not get into trouble by spending money you can't afford.

Two of the best college student credit cards are the Citi mtvU card and the Citi Driver's Edge for Students card. They're great rewards cards. They also offer an introductory 0% APR for 6 months. Generally, I wouldn't recommend carrying a balance on any credit card, but if you've got a plan to pay off the card before the 0% APR period is over, that would be OK. I would *always* recommend funneling your normal spending through your reward card(s) and paying your balance in full every month. That way you build your credit quickly, avoid interest, and earn rewards.

Those two Citi cards are good for different spending profiles. The Citi mtvU is geared more toward restaurants and entertainment. The Driver's Edge is more for gas, grocery, and drug store spending.

To see which college student rewards card will pay you the most for your normal spending, you can use this rewards calculator:

The girl is a geek.
The best credit card is NO credit card.

If you can't pay cash for what you want, you can't afford it!!!!!!

Apart from now annual fee feature of the American Blue Express it also gives cash returns on specific purchases. Users of the American Blue Express also enjoy protection against fraud for online credit card transactions. This card tries to right the various wrong notions about the American Express credit cards, one of which is that it is a credit card only for rich or those who have money to keep a credit card.

You dont need a credit card. You want a credit card.
Stay away from them. The credit card companies make all the rules and can change the rules anytime they want too. The are snakes and will strike when you are down. If you play with snakes you are going to get bit.

Put $500 into a savings account and make it a certified card. That way you can spend only the amount in the savings and then it shuts off. My folks did that with me, and I never have had any black marks on my credit, thankfully.

The one that does not exist. All credit cards are a scam. Check out Capital One though. They gave me one. If its your 1st they'll all be the same, highest interest rate possible. Just pay off whatever you put on there right away, for about 3-6 months, then call and ask them to lower your rate. It really doesn't matter who you get it from, best thing is to just build a relationship with one company. Try to find one that gives you rewards or something you could benefit from. Don't get a discover or AMEX card if its your 1st too.

None. If you have no income, you shouldn't have a credit card. If mommie is paying for your credit card, then there are credit cards that provide a small amount but charge you a fee to get started. If employed, get the small amount credit card, say $150.00 max; every two weeks send a payment so you won't get caught with interest and a major problem later when you have a full time job and want a new car.
