What's the best way to improve my credit?

Getting good credit is not an easy road. Whether you choose to get a Credit Card, A Store Revolving Credit Card, or even purchase a car, you've got to be very very disciplined.
I suggest never purchasing anything with a credit card that you couldn't with your bank card. At the end of EVERY month, pay off the entire balance.

Do not apply for many credit cards. Find the credit card with the best terms and interest rate, apply once, and watch it carefully.

You're Credit Score is determined by your credit limit, your credit/debt ratio, length of time of your credit history, payment history, credit inquiries, etc.

I suggest checking your credit report for free. You can check it once per year per reporting agency. I suggest checking one agency every 4 months (=12 months). Checking your own credit report does not hurt your credit score. If you purchase a score with your report, usually they'll give you suggestions to improve your score.

First, check your credit once a year to make sure there's nothing disputable attatched to your name. You can get one free report from each of the three main credit bureaus every year. Click here for more information:

Next, no matter how much debt you have, make sure your payments are always on time (even if you can only pay the minimum). If you can, pay more than the minimum, and avoid adding any new debt to your plate, and don't have tons of credit cards open at the same time. Lastly, unless you can afford to pay it off every month, avoid maxing out any of your credit cards. It looks good to creditors if you only use the amount of credit you can afford to pay off in a reasonable amount of time - if you keep a constant level of unpayable debt, it makes you look very irresponsible... and it will show in your credit score.

Get a credit card and have some kind of balance on it, even if it is small, and make your monthly payments on time. It will show that you are responsible enough to have credit.

What is your FICO score? have you defaulted in any debts? how much you make? how much you owe?

1. Pay your bills on time.
2. Always pay more than the minimum balance due.
3. If possible, pay a credit card monthly for about 3 months and then pay the balance in one lump sum on the 4th month.
4. Always communicate with your creditors if you need to make a late payment.

Pay off your debt and ensure your debtors report the payoff to the major credit agencies.

Try to keep up with your payment as you can. Go to Clark Howard website, he has pretty good advice on how to improve your credit and even get rid to the debt

I got one of those high interest low amount Master Cards. Kept it up to date and after a few months other CC companys started sending me cards. Caution about getting yourself into debt. It seems that the more credit you have the more you can get. Chickie

start paying off your bills, whether they are in collections, or through lenders, they all have programs, that u can pay off . u just need to get in touch with the people u owe money to and work out a payment plan and agreement of some sort, most of the time they will help you. they always try to get more out of you so start with the lowest number you can pay. and then communicate. and dont let anyone threaten you. if you're trying to pay that's the best you can do.
