Time is the only cure for credit. Scammers claim everyday that they can clean up credit, but nothing can do that but time plus good credit practices. Good practices include, pay off all credit cards starting with the highest interest card first, pay debts and minimize the size of your credit extentions. |

For starters, you have to pay all your bills on time.
Get a copy of your credit report. If there are any errors, dispute them with the credit bureaus.
Start negotiating settlements of your derogatory items. Start with the newest and work back to the oldest. The older the item, the less impact on your score. Anything close to the 7 year reporting period, just let age off.
If you have single entry derogatory items like cell phone, medical, and utility bills, ask for a delete for pay. That will remove the item and work best for your score. In the case of multiple entry items like credit cards, the collection company can only remove what they posted. The charge off by the original creditor will stay on your report.
If the debt is more than 3 years old, offer 25%; 2 to 3 years old, offer 50%; less than 2, offer 75%. Lump sum gets the best deals. Payment plans have to be short term.
Get any settlement agreement in writing and keep it, along with your payment proof, forever. Do not give collectors direct access to your bank account.
Paying off old debt will not improve your score unless you get it deleted. In fact, paying old debt will initially lower your score. When you pay an old debt, it becomes a "current" transaction and is counted more, including the negative parts. Creditors look at your whole credit report, not just the score. Paid old debt always looks better than unpaid.
You will need at least 24 months of consistent, on time payment history to improve your score. |

Hi neckbone. I actually own a credit debt consultation business. To clean up your credit you have to do a few things.
number 1 you need to pay your tradelines on time before the due date. A tradeline is a credit card a line of credit or any loan.
number 2 your old debts that are old and out dated you either need to hire a company like mine to get them removed or try to remove them yourself. Generally companies like mine have a better shot at doing that but anyone can try.
number 3 you need to keep your balances versus your credit allowance below 50 percent. THIS IS CRUCIAL. This is a huge part of your FICO score.
This is what i do on a daily basis. If you have any other questions feel free to email me at
agdconsult@gmail.com
i am always available to answer questions from people

If you are looking to improve your credit score quickly, now is the time to get started. Here are 5 great ways to increase your credit fast.
Create Some Balance: While paying down installment debt (car, school, mortgage, etc.) will definitely boost your credit score, paying down or paying off revolving debt, such as credit cards, can cause a quick jump in your credit score. The trick is to get and keep your balances below 30% of your credit limit on each card. For faster results, attack those cards with balances closer to their respective credit limits first, as opposed to those cards with simply the highest
debt. Remember, if you pay off any credit cards completely, do not close your accounts without discussing it with a professional first. Cancelling those cards may inadvertently undo all of your hard work.
Know Your Limits: Make sure that your credit card issuers are reporting the correct limits on your accounts to the three
major credit bureaus. Without an available limit, your account will appear to be maxed out at its highest reported balance
each month. This could cost you up to 80 points in certain instances. Some creditors, such as American Express® and
certain cards issued by Capital One®, actually have a policy of not reporting available credit. However, most companies
will report your credit limits if you ask them in writing.
Take Some Credit: If you have a credit card account in very good standing, make sure that all three credit bureaus know
about it. Just like your credit limits, some creditors don't report your information to all three credit companies - this is why credit scores often vary between bureaus. If this is the case, give them a call to find out why. Correcting this oversight could provide a significant boost to your score. Also, if you're in very good standing, ask your creditor for a lower rate or higher credit limit. This will increase the gap in the debt you owe versus the credit you have available. Sometimes hinting about closing an account can suddenly bring out the generous spirit of certain card issuers. Give it a try. The worst they can say is no.
Protect Your Interests: Your credit is calculated based solely on the information available to your creditors. If you have a
HELOC, make sure it's listed as a mortgage or an installment account on your credit reports and not a revolving debt. If you had a bankruptcy, be sure that all items associated with the bankruptcy are being reported correctly, that is with a zero balance. This action could increase your score by 50-100 points. Because simple mistakes like these can wreak havoc on your credit score, it's important to monitor your credit every four to six months.
Even the Score: If you find information on your credit report that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete, then you have the right to dispute it free of charge. For the fastest results, visit the appropriate credit bureau's website and file a complaint online. If supporting documents are necessary, you have to file your dispute by mail.

Dont keep opening and closing credit card accounts. Stick with one or two credit cards and keep paying them off regularly on time. This is the single most important issue: make all your payments on time.
If you feel your interest rate is too high or your credit limit is not large enough, rather than continually moving to a new credit card, call your current credit card issuer or bank and negotiate a lower interest rate or a higher credit limit.
If you currently have too many credit cards then you can consolidate them all into one low interest credit card. This will help your credit card management issues. |

There is only one way to fix ' your ' credit and that is to just continue to make your payments on time. If you continually miss payments ' you're ' (you are) a high risk person and will get turned down often. |

Make sure your credit card balances are not near the limit, that makes you an at risk consumer to potential creditors. Also, make sure that bad information is only listed for no longer than 7 years. If you have any items in collection make sure that the original account shows zero balance because you no longer owe the original company you now owe the collection agency. |

Your credit score is based mostly on:
1. Length of credit history
2. Payment history.
3. Ratio of credit used to available credit.
4. Number of credit inquiries you authorized.
If you cancel your card, you'll be hurting your credit ratio. (#3).
You want to deliberately keep your oldest credit card open, even if you never use it.
You want to always pay the minimums of each loan on time every month.
You want to keep your available credit high, but actually only have balances equalinig 25% or less.
You want to keep your credit inquiries to a minimum. Try for no more than 3 or 4 per year for any type of loans.
You do these things and your credit score will quickly soar into the 700s.
