I'm starting to think that my identity has been stolen. Right now i'm having a hard time getting a job, i have seriously been trying all this summer and no luck. They always tell me they will call me back and they don't. Is there any way i can find out whats wrong?

You can't tell that your ID has been stolen just by applying for a job. That would only surface once you've been offered the job and credit/background checks were being run (you have to authorize them to do this).
If you really want to know, get a copy of your credit report and look for any enquiries and/or accounts that don't belong to you.

Not being able to get a job doesn't necessarily mean you're a victim of identity theft. It could be that you simply haven't been the best qualified applicant for any of the positions you've applied for. Or it could be that, because of the current economy, places ultimately decide not to fill the position at all. My boyfriend has been trying since January to find a job and hasn't had any luck.
FYI - if you were the victim of identity theft you might have trouble getting a loan; you might get calls about credit card or other accounts that you did not know had been opened in your name; its really more about your financial status than your employment status. |

Get a free credit report from experian, transunion, and the Equifax. You have to get a report from all three because each one can have different debts on them. You can only get one credit report per year from each if you find their phone numbers you can get one mailed for free.

*EDIT: You can see if someone is using your identity by looking for unknown debts on each report.
