if you have a bank account with bank of america, they send you their credit card. also, captial one has one meant for students, it starts at 300 dollars, but if u make 3 payments on time, it goes up to 500 |

None of them are good. You get youself into using them and you are going to get yourself into tons and thousands of dollars of trouble.
Keep away from credit cards of any kind. You dont want to start out life in so much debt you will not get out of it. |

I would say stay away from credit cards. They are like an addiction. You don't realize at the time of purchasing that plastic at the end of the month turns to green dollars. Not only that but the interest that you will be charged will be very high as you don't have a credit line yet.
Where ever you will get the money to pay for your credit card bill when it arrives you should get the cash now to pay for your books. Borrow from a friend, or relative. Let them know how and when you will pay them back.
Heed my advice, you will be glad you did later on.
Another suggestion is that if your parents, have a credit card you can have them put you name as 2nd card holder. I am sure thier interst rate would be much lower than yours as they have established a credit line already.
Good luck in college, I know you will make something of yourself one day. You sound like a responsible person. |

You can find a complete list of student credit cards here:
http://www.asapcreditcard.com/student-cards.html
While student credit cards tend to have higher interest rates than 'standard' credit cards, they're a great way for students with little or no income to build and improve their credit scores. Eventually-- with regular, on-time payments you'll be able to apply for better offers with lower Apr's.
But for now... they're a great option to help you get started.
Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK! |

If you have a job and are responsable with how you spend money. You could try to get an American Express card. They dont charge you any interest, usually no fee the frist year, and you pay in full every month, so you will never have a balance. They also have no limit, so BE RESPONABLE. |

In my experience, there is no good credit card for students. Considering that the interest is high and the minimum payments have doubled, it's really easy to get into a debt that you can't pay off. You can always roll the cost of your books into your student loan, as the interest is lower. See your financial aid office for details. |

get one with airline miles, or some kind of rebate offer you can work towards getting something. other than that, they are all basically the same, you're in college they basically force them on you, get a visa or two and pay the balance off every month and you wont have to worry about the interest rates and late fees. this takes a little disclipline or you could get yourself into trouble. |

None. Children your age are not responsible enough to have credit cards. |
