impulsively lol you should always make sure you know what you are using it on and make sure you can pay off the bill before the billing cycle so you wont get charged interest. |

Buying unnecessary items you can't really afford and then not paying in full when the bill comes. It can be a credit death spiral. |

To finance your debt. The interest rates are terrible. Also, it's bad to use your card to dig yourself into debt in the first place. If you can't pay it off in 30 or 60 days, you should save for the purchase instead. |

using them to purchase food, every day items, and on items that will not give you a return in some way (be more valuable than the cost+interest).
Always pay double the minimum payment!! And on Time!! |

The absolute worst way to use a credit card ... Using it as toilet paper and then picking your teeth. Then using it to purchase gas that costs so much you need to use the credit card as toilet paper AGAIN! |

Mindlessly buying stuff you want that you couldve paid for with cash if only you would have waited and then not paying your balance in full thereby allowing interest to build up what you owe and you wind up paying nearly double for what you bought in the first place! |

I think buying groceries, gas, and other essentials on your credit card are perfectly fine...as long as you pay your bill every month on time so that you are not charged any interest or penalties.
The worst thing to do with a credit card is to let your debt grow and grow. The interest rates on credit cards are usually very high, so you could be doing much better with other types of debt. If you can, pay off your credit card every month and only buy things you can currently afford. |

Grocery shopping, gas, and dining out are the worst things to put on a credit card. These things add up quickly and this debt is very easy to avoid. Save the credit card for big purchases that you can't pay for full price. |

Best advice, do not use credit cards for daily living expensens ... i.e. gas, groceries, paying utilities, etc., unless absolutely dire and necessary. I lost my job a few months ago ... lived 6 months off of credit cards ... score went way down ... got new job ... paid those puppies off ... use them only when necessary ... credit cards are to build credit history for big-ticket items like HOMES and cars. |
