Enroll with PRBC- PRBC is America's Alternative Credit Bureau, providing a helpful service to the over 50 million people with limited or no credit history. If you pay your monthly bills on time, PRBC can help you build credit to qualify for a mortgage and better interest rates.On-time payments for the following bills are not reported to the traditional credit bureaus:

Rent
Cable
Phone
Daycare
Insurance
Electric
Natural Gas
Cell Phone

The only time your payments for these bills are reported to the other credit bureaus is if they're missing or late. With PRBC, your on-time payments count. You build credit for paying your bills on time, even if you have no credit history. PRBC has teamed up with Fair Issac, the creators of the FICO score to introduce the FICO expansion score which helps people build credit. Here's a link that explains more in detail:

The best way to get credit is to pay for a phone bill. Because it is a luxury not a necessity.

pay all you bills on time

the only way is too get a credit card and pay on it on time..never be late.or buy a car and someone can cosign for you..the easiest way is the way you dont wanna go..credit cards..regular bills you pay doesnt go on your credit.

Show good use of debt. Get an overdraft on your current account (dip into it and pay it back a week later etc)

get a loan and keep up the repayments.

Get a cellphone on a contract and keep up the repayments!

This all shows you can handle debt and are responsible with money and debt.

Get more income (a second job) this helps too.

Get a copy of your credit score (uk) experian - google it.

buy a cellphone and pay your bill on time

if you need a car, buy a car and get it financed..... again making sure to make your payments on time.

You can not improve your credit score, without credit.
You can't even buy a car, unless you pay cash.
If you choose to lease, or make payments, You still have to
obtain credit, before you drive it off the lot.
So, without that credit score, you can't even buy a house,
because, you have "no credit history."
What your asking. Is "Catch 22," in reverse. <}:-})

The only way to get a credit score is to borrow money and make payments on time.

why do you want credit? It's good for nothing but getting into debt with. A zero score from not borrowing money is the best score you can have. You can get the best interest rates for a home loan with manual underwriting. Manual underwriting is the way home loans were givin' before all the fico score worship.

Save up for a good used cash car. No payments = cash in the bank. Yes, The only time you might have to borrow money is for a home. But....you don't need a fico score to do that.

i had this problem i had a credit card for 2 years before i tried to buy a car, but that still wasn't enough credit... i finally got my car myself but i have a high interest rate... they told me that the car would help with my credit and that if you buy a car with a high interest rate then pay all the payments on time for a year you can refinance it and you will have established credit and they can lower it. but a car is the best way to establish credit! Good Luck!!!

I love reading people's responses which say that you shouldn't get credit because it leads to debt. I wonder if they've ever financed a car or a house and realized that getting into debt is exactly what they've done.

If you don't want a credit card yet you want to build your score, obtain a car loan and pay it off with each monthly payment in full and on time. Or just any installment loan.

Lenders like to lend to people who have a great credit report. And although you can definitely stick to your preferences, it is said that people with great credit have a mixture of a couple installment (car loan) and revolving (credit card) accounts. Just something to think about.

If you rent an apartment, the management might report to Trans-Union, Experian, or Exquifax that is a way to build credit. Make your payments on time, all the time. Then after a few years you should get a boost.

It's actually impossible to have zero credit. That is assuming that you are of age in your state to enter contracts. The way the system is "supposed to work" is until you are old enough to enter into contracts besides your necessaries then you shouldn't have a credit profile to begin with. However, through evils of the business world you probably had one before you were of age. Either way the only way to have zero credit is to be young or dead, but babies and dead people are always opening lines of credit.

Anywho, even though you don't want a credit card its probably the best way to start, but be very careful with them. Read all literature that comes with card offers, and make sure that your budget will fit its needs from you. Also, wait until you get one with a APR of 15% or lower because some are around 24% and that's just usury, plain and simple. Intro APR's are good, but they always go away so plan ahead. Make payments on time and try to keep a revovling balance (money owed from month to month) around 25% of the credit line. Not to mention, it takes 24 months for the credit cards to start reporting positively on your credit profile so you have to stick with one for 2 years before it can begin boosting it.

In absence of this you should find a car you can get financed on from a dealership that reports to the same agencies as above. Make your payments on time everytime and don't have it repo'ed. Other than that there are not many other ways to help it.

It's an unfair game they play with you regardless of who you are. So all you can do is know the most you can about it.
