i had payday loans and bad credit.
Chase Bank has, what you call a second chance account.
Has to be,direct deposit, you will only get a debit card they check and see how you are doing every 90 days, then decide if you can handle a checking account again.

I had the same problem. I went online and opened one. Had no problem that way. I can still use the narmal banks for drawing or paying in money, but opening online I did not have to go through all the checks that the branches do. I got my cash card in about 4 days and my account was approved in a few minutes. hope that this helps.lol |

Most banks have basic accounts that are good for poor credit history. I have a Step account with Natwest because it gives me a debit card whereas not all of them do. |

ALL banks offer a BASIC BANK ACCOUNT, regardless of your credit history. They just don't advertise the fact, because they can't make much money off you with them!
BBA's are mainly aimed at people on benefits or with bad credit. Depending on the bank, the BBA will give you a cash point/Visa Electron card. You won't get a cheque book or a cheque guarantee card, but the accounts offer a direct debit facility - handy for paying bills.
When you have run the account for 6 months/1 year (again, depending on the back) you can ask to be upgraded to a Current Account. Ex-building societies (Woolwich, Abbey, Nationwide) are usually quite good and the process is relatively simple.
I had VERY bad credit, but got a BBA from Woolwich (now Barclays). A year on, I have managed to pay off 2 CCJs, have had my account upgraded and have a credit card!
