itd amazing what an identity thief can do with just one social security number. such as , get credit cards,open bank acccounts, buy items on credit such as acrs, and other expensive items electronics, having been a victom of identity theft. know its not easy to restore your reputation, especially when your giving 25 to 20 pages od handwriting samples to the secret service postal inspectors. its onw thing that is really hard to prove. the really hard thing is that no matter ehst else they can try and sucees and do is apply for socila secutity benefits.they must produce a vakid proof of identitysuch as a birth certificate. |

He could apply for credit under your name (e.g., a credit card, loan application). Then he can start fraudulent activities, and those incidents would then eventually appear in your credit report.
You should try to protect your social security number as good as possible to prevent misuse. |

I personally had my identity stolen five years ago. Fraudulent charges, citations in my name, disconnection of services, interest rates through the roof, etc. After fighting this for the last four years, I filed for bankruptcy. It was the fastest way to get back on track, but at a cost of appearing on my credit report for the next seven years. DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY!!!!! |
