I have a loan which I wasn't able to pay before I left my country 6mos ago..but is willing to settle it.The thing is the company is harassing my family..what is my legal right on this? please help...

Stop worrying about your legal rights and think about the rights of the people whose money you borrowed and didn't pay back. You took goods and/or services and didn't pay for them.

You need to get in touch with the agents, and you need to make arrangements for payments.
Make it clear that your family is not involved with the money, and tell them in no certain terms that they will NEVER contact your family again.

You have no legal rights on this one. Pay out the loan & they will stop ringing your family.

The person being called needs to tell the caller not to call them. if the calls continue they need to contact the police.

It is not harassment if you owe the money, they are calling the number you were living at when you took the loan and they can legally keep calling everyday, or multiple times a day, until you pay the loan or they sell your loan to a collection agency and they sue you. Why don't you call them and set up a payment plan or settlement with them and then the phone calls will stop.

Your family members can use the term Cease and Desist which means they can't call you. All correspondence will be through mail. That is America. Anywhere else, I cant tell you. Now if you owe money to a loan shark, oops!
