Federal Regulation E states you have 60 days from the date of notice of the transaction to dispute it. Contact your bank immediately, and they will do an investigation. They should send you an affidavit, and you should file a police report. The card will have to be closed, but that is better than someone with your card information still using it. |

you should not give your debit card to anyone, and even if they stole it, how would they know your PIN number unless you told them. That is probably what the bank will tell you. But you will have to get a new card and PIN right away |

Call your bank...if its a big enough bank they'll cancel the charges.
And if you know the person...take him out back!!!! |

Contact your bank right away and get your pin # changed and explain to the bank what happened, they will assist you on what to do next.

If you suspect it's been used without your permission, then call your bank or go online and check to see if there are charges that you did not make. Then it won't be suspicion, it will be fact.
If the person who made the charges is someone you know, which is what I suspect since right now you only have a suspicion, then you can deal with that personally, or not. It's your decision.
If someone you don't know has managed to use the card, then you're in for a lot of work getting things straightened out. That includes things you may not yet be aware have happened. |
