Hi,
I have like extremly trashed credit from back when I was 18. I am 23 and basically didnt care when I turned 18 and now regreting it. I am VERY good with money and responsible. I currently have a target store card, bank of america secured card, and an orchard bank credit card. I want to get one with like chase or someone pretty reputable so I can close the other crappy ones. My credit score is like in the 500s from TU/EF/EXPERIAN. Can someone please give me the name of a card that is decent and I stand a pretty good chance of getting approved for?? PLEASE do not send me First Premier, Continental Finance ETC as all those require money down and are a total joke.
Please send cards you have had success getting and like what your general credit score is.

It doesn't matter who the bank is on the credit card, nobody will look and say " Oh, Chase gave her a card, maybe I should" it is how you act and pay your credit cards. Keep your balance below 30% and your score should go up after a while and card offers will follow later. |

Try getting one from Orchard Bank I think they work with you to put kind of like a down payment type thing or security deposit something like that and it is supposed to help your credit. We found out about it when we were trying to refinance our house and didn't have a high enough credit score. Which was not that long ago and we have to start making purchases with itto get the score up and make our payments on time. That's about all I know. |

You can try orchard bank. I know you don't want to go through a company like first premier but you may have to. No one is going to be lined up to issue you a credit card just yet. |

You can get any "secured" card that you see advertised. Secured means you put a deposit down, and thats how much your credit limit is. Ex. you give them $200, they let you have a credit card with a 200 limit. Its not a joke, its the only way anyone with bad credit can get a credit card nowadays. You have to put up money in order to start doing small things that will improve your credit. Try any major bank's credit card that offers a secured version of their card. No one is going to give you a card without money up front - not with your score. |

Capital One and Orchard gave me my first two rebuilds.
It's been 7 years, both are still open without balances. I still am grateful that they helped me when my credit looked very bleak. Good luck! |

I had to rebuild my twice! I was told by Equifax,not to close accounts.Rather,spend $10 a month on the card.To keep a good standing with the ones you have. You need to write to do a "promotional block" with Transunion,Equifax,and Experian.This will stop "just any and every company"from looking at your credit files.Which causes your score to drop.
I personally found Equifax site better.Did you pay your debts off or just let them drop after 7 years.They are still listed as you didn't pay.
I asked a jewerly store ,if I purchased an item for $200.Would they report my on -time payments to my bank.To rebuild my credit.Then I paid it a few days early each month for 24 months.That's how I got started. I was irresponsible at 18 also.
Get your reports from all 3 credit companies,then when you can get all 3 fico scores.
