What credit card should a person apply for if you have poor credit and are trying to re-establish?

Get a secured one. That is one where you have to make a deposit into a special account and then as you use and pay the card you re-establish your credit. It is a lot safer than getting one with a really high interest rate(19-29%) that I might add is compounded daily. Also for good reference, it is better to pay it all off as you charge rather than carrying the balance forward that's how they make all their money on you only paying the minimum due.
Good luck with improving your credit rating.

None. If you have poor credit it's because you couldn't handle the credit you've already been given. Forget about credit cards and pay cash for everything. I have a check card linked to my checking account that I use for online purchases from reputable sites, but no credit card debt. If you can't pay cash for it, you can't afford it, PERIOD.

try a secured credit card. this is a card that is secured by a savings account for the amount of your cr3edit limit. Ask your bank if they have one. Bank of America has one. First Premier.

im only 16 n in high school but my life management teacher taught us that when we get one to set a limit of like 500 at the max and then just buy gas with it when you need to im gonna guess about 80 or a lil more a month just pay it off when you get the bill n have the money to pay for it she said that gets you good credit but idk.
Try it.
Hope i helped

For now, it cool to get a pre-paid credit car for visa or MasterCard at http://www.greendotonline.com
Meanwhile you can hire a lawyer or credit repair company to assist you in correcting your credit.

I'll Help You Be Debt Free
You don't get a credit card because it causes you to be in DEBT! The 16 year old girls teacher is a REATRD and shouldn't be teaching! Putting gas on a credit card is the DUMBEST thing you can do! Why would you want to pay for something several months after you used it? If you got $30 in gas and paid for it over several months, it would cost you $38.00 at 18% interest. (National average interest rate for credit cards.)

What would common sense tell you?

If you can't pay for it with cash, you don't need it!
