AnnualCreditReport.com is the ONLY site that does not require you to sign up for monitoring services. This is the site mandated by the FTC. You can access your credit report at all three credit bureaus on line.
FreeCreditReport.com is not a government site nor is it free. But it certainly looks like the commercials are doing their job. This site, like most of the others, is owned by one of the credit bureaus and you have to sign up for their monitoring services. It is not easy to cancel before the 30 day-trial is over.
All of those sites want you to sign up for a fee based service.
Go to each credit reporting agency's web site and do each one by itself.
I just did it. I had to mail in some forms for one of the places. I spent less than $1 for all three.

Call any bank and get the number for Experian, or any other credit agency. Any bank will have a phone number list with these numbers in it. All credit agencies are required to give you one yearly at your request.
