If you pay off the entire amount they will send you a check back with the amount you overpaid. If you sent them more than you wanted to but you still have a balance they apply the entire amount to your bill. |

You end up having what's called a negative balance; they owe you money. It'll show up as $-50.00 or whatever amount you overpaid.
If you keep it there long enough, they'll just mail you a check for the difference, at least that's what Household bank did for me. |

It is credited to your account as overpay. |

It depends.
If you made a payment that covered your total balance owing, then you would have a credit on your next statement.
If you made purchases after the payment was processed they would apply that credit to the balance owing on your next bill, or if you were carrying a balance forward from past purchases they would apply it to the total balance. It would not reduce your minimum payment amount though. |

They will give you a credit. |

Then you have a plus balance. Next time you use your credit card, they will apply the credit towards the debit. |

Then you have a credit on your credit card, ironic huh? |

If the amount is less than a dollar then you usually have to request a refund. If it is more than a dollar it is usually automatically refunded if you have a credit balance for more than one billing cycle.
Some credit cards will not allow a payment bigger than the statement balance. |

You will have a positive balance. You can ask for the money back or just leave it there to cover future purchases. |

Actually it's good if you send alittle more money , so if you're short by a few dollars , you will have enough money........
Like what everyone said , they will credit you and or they will send you a check .........
always be early sending bills .....have a route .......
rule of thumb .....send all bills 2 weeks early , never late... |

they just send u a check for the balance u over paid or u could choose to leave it their so wen u buy something they just take subtract from it |

The statement shows that they owe you. So, you use your credit card as usual the next month and then it balances out..end of story. |
|

bryan_montreal

You have a positive account. It'll just be moved onto your next month's bill.
So if you pay 25$ too much this month, you'll have a 25$ credit for next month. |
|

either keep it or give it back next time u pay |

They will apply it to your next month's balance or if you owe nothing they will send it back. Sometimes that takes 4 months, so if you don't owe and want it back faster, just call and they will send you a check. |

Theyll usually just send you a check for the difference. |

You will have a credit on your next statement unless you call them to request a refund for the overpayment |

Tis true, I've had this happen. They gave me credit towards next months bill. I suppose if you asked for it, they would give it back to you. |
