Call the credit card company and be up front with them, you blew it. You will have to surrender your credit cards, and you will no longer be able to use that credit card.

Make a payment arrangement to pay off the balance, and do not miss a payment. Request for your finance charges rate to be reduced until you are on your feet again. When you pay minimum payments all you are doing is going around in circles.

Contact a non-profit organization to consolidate all of your debts. They will send letters to all of your creditors, and make financial arrangements for you. You have to be willing to work with them and give up some of the extras that you have now.

I just found out that some lenders can charge you for not making payments on other credit cards. If you owe 20k on a Bank of America Visa and you have a Chase MC, your APR on the Chase MC could get increased w/o you ever knowing. They can do this and it's not against the law. You may need to file for bankruptcy. Good Luck!

The best thing to do is contact them and work out a payment plan you can afford. Tell them that you can't afford this. Most will work with you if you are at least willing to try and pay it off.

You have a serious problem and need to get your self enrolled in credit and debt counseling. Waiting and putting it off is the worst thing you could possibly do. A good credit counseling service will help you work out a monthly budget. They will help you work out a payment arrangement with your creditors that you can comfortably afford to pay. It will also stop collections phone calls. Some good ones are Consumer credit and debt counseling, Christian Credit counselors.

Make sure you avoid services that hold your first payment or tell you not to pay your bills. Those one are shady.

Contact Consumer Credit Counseling Services, they are a free service that will work with your creditors to lower both your monthly payments as well as your interest rate.

I used them several years ago and was debt free in 36-months.

Since your name is the only one on the accounts, your Wife's credit will not be effected.

omg dude i guess you can declare bankruptcy on your cards then start over then clear your name and get money in your account so you would be able to support yourself and dont apply any credit cards well you can just cards like american express or visa.just make sure you dont overspend on them and make sure you pay the debt bills on time.
