Yes they can garnish your wages. They may also be able to prosecute someone if they show a pattern of using credit cards and then not paying especially if at the time they used the card, they had no source of income.
Be really careful! |

once the credit card company sell your dept to a collection agency you can fight that. The collection agency has paid your dept and you never owed the agency the dept, so how is it you owe them if you received the credit card from jc Penny. jc penny wrote it off and was pd for it and then they got paid again when the collection agency bought the dept from them. So you don't any longer owe the dept,so write a letter to the credit reports and get it removed from you credit. I DID IT . |

Ignore This, That's answer, too much wrong information.
To begin with, you would have to do a little research. Some states do not allow garnishment of wages, others have rules regarding liens and other procedures.
But in general...after 6 months they will begin to play hardball with your debt. It will begin to appear on your credit report. They may write the debt off, but that doesn't mean they are excusing the debt.
The debt will go to a collection agency, and that's where the gambling comes in. If this agency has an office near where you live, then it's fairly easy for them to sue you. Otherwise, they have to hire an outside agency or attorney to do it, and that costs them money. In those cases, they probably won't go after you for under $1000 in debts.
If you owe over $2000 you can pretty much count on them suing you.
If they win, the will look for the easist way to collect. Garnishment is first. They can take your state tax refund, and if they want to go through the trouble, they can go after property. |

just keep making your minimum payments and they cant do anything to you. |

If they win a court case it's up to them to collect it.
If they cannot collect it then they can ask the court to garnish wages, drain your bank account and other options depending on your locality. |
|

This, That & such
|
Usually, they won't take you to court because it's an unsecured debt, but if you don't pay, they write it off as bad debt and sell it to collection agencies which most time tack on other expenses. Befor you know there's a monster of a debt after you. Everytime that debt is written off and someone else begins collection procedures on it, it keeps appearing on your credit record. |

If you continue not to pay or work out arrangements, they can garnish your wages. You should check into either a debt management program or bankruptcy. |

old debts dont go away of course the company write them off at the end of the year on taxes as a lost but they still want to get paid by you and it still showes up on your credit report but after 10yrs you can start over again. |
