hey what's in your wallet?
but seriously though just go to a bank any bank pay them 500 dollars, and get a secured credit card buy 4 major purchases within a yr,like a TV or cel phone on that card ,MAKE SURE YOU PAY THEM OFF ON TIME AND YOUR CREDIT CARD BILL THIS VERY IMPORTANT because this what credit card companies look at when deciding on whether to give a credit increase and trust me ,you will get a credit increase over a yr period ,after a yr they might increase it to 1000 dollars then every two months in the second yr you will get a full credit up to 5000 and maybe even a credit line, this is the only sure way if you keep getting turned down and you need credit to buy a house, car etc in the future!
one thing i almost forgot look for a credit card with the LOWEST credit interest rate ,try to get one anywhere from 2 to less than 10 % unfortunately i got one with 18% which means on every 100 dollars spent i own the credit card basically 20 dollars this is where most people go wrong with credit cards because it is so hard to pay this kind of a credit card back!ok?good luck!
ok people who gave me thumps down,if she keep getting turned down it means there is problem with her credit rating my god! |

Here is a good site that lists quite a few choices. Make sure you choose a card that meets your spending patterns. One of the big distinctions is paying a yearly fee vs. no fee cards.

Department store cards are a good way to establish credit and also oil/gas station cards.
Always make sure to pay on time. Don't spend beyond your means. |

Both of these companies are great when first starting out. They work well with little or no credit. Apply online. |

The best way to start, I think is to go with your regular bank. You have your account, write your checks or make your deposits, your usual transactions. Soon enough, they'll get to you and if the bank is a big enough one, they'll pester you to get a card. And that will come soon enough. |

I started mine with store cards, as they are usually a bit easier to get. I started with Target basic card, then when I'd made just a few very small purchases and pd back, got a Target Visa.
Avoid debt to build credit though - literally just minor purchases and immediate payback is enough. |

Get a secured credit card online. I did a search for you on Card Hub and here are your options:

Go on-line to www.creditcards.com and search for credit cards under he Limited or No Credit History search tab. Make sure you pay your bill on time every month and keep your balances LOW; do not ever max out the card. Make sure you are also applying to cards one at a time, as having numerous inquiries on your credit reports can adversely lower your score. |

My first credit card was a student visa through BoA, it only had a limit of $600 and was a good way to start off by the end of 2 years (after always making sure to pay on time and everything else) my limit had been increased to $1600. Since it was a student card it was meant for people with zero history. I closed it because I HATE BoA with a passion that can't be described on Y!answers without a lot of ****, so I'll leave it at that. But I do agree that going through your bank is a good idea or even better would be a credit union. I know some stores require you to have been approved for another credit card (like a visa) before they'll approve you (Victoria's Secret comes to mind) but Macy's doesn't.
The thing about credit is once someone gives you a chance and you can prove yourself, they ALL want to give you a chance. Just be very careful not to get in over your head. |

NONE. All credit card companies and banks are suckers. Just study it better, before signing their document and enjoying the credit. |
