Try your bank. Visa or Mastercard are accepted everywhere. If they will ,go for a modest credit limit. If you do the right thing and pay it off each month ( everyone should) , the bank will offer you an increase on your limit. |

Most major credit card companies have a "new to credit" or "student card" which are basically designed as a way to establish a credit history.
I would personally recommend either a secured card which you can get from a bank you already have a relationship with or a real credit card with no annual fee.
Major issuers like Capital One have products that you can apply for from their website which offers no annual fee, and an APR of slightly less than twenty percent. No fee is very important because with a low line of 300-500 dollar a $50 annual membership fee is the minimal equivalent of a 20% interest rate, regardless of if you use the card or not, pay in fll or not. Later, when you have a better card, you can still keep the old card open at no cost to you.
I hope you plan on paying your card in full. Establishing a credit history isn't worthwhile if your history will only show a slow decline into indebtedness which will reduce your options in the future. |

go with discover they give you 5% cash back on your purchases and 0% APR for whole year and no fees. |

Go to your bank and tell them that you want a secured credit card. You give the bank $300 (per se) and that will be your credit line. You spend money on the card and pay it back every month, just like you would a regular credit card and usually after about a year of steady on-time payments the bank will usually increase your credit line, which is unsecured. Once you make your first monthly payment it will show up on your credit. |

prepaid card scores over credit cards especially if the owner has a not so perfect credit history.
The rejection is non existent in case of prepaid credit cards, there are no credit checks, no employment verification, and approval is guaranteed.
With a bit of dilligent shopping and comparision of various prepaid credit card offers, it is not difficult to find a prepaid card with no annual fees, no late payment fees, no repayments, and no penalties whatsoever. So, the ownership costs of a prepaid card can be negligible.
With prepaid cards it is very easy to promote financial discipline. Since you can only spend what you have, there is no overspending, and hence no debts. Apply online for a best prepaid credit card at: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/PrePaid_Card.html |

Try Orchard Bank, they're quite reasonable.
But whatever credit card you get, make sure you don't pay high annual fees.
Unless you spend a fortune, paying an annual fee for rewards probably won't be worth it. |

Orchard or Capital One. Stay away from Premier or cards that charge you three hundred bucks to open the account. |

I would try to get one with the lowest rate you can, but if you are just establishing credit your rates prolly wont be that low. Look around research the lender if needed read the small print, and be wise while using your first credit card. |
