You don't have to see the manager, one of the personal bankers can help you with a loan. I would go Tues, Wed or Thurs because Mondays and Fridays are busier than the other days. |

Try a Tuesday. People are sometimes irritable on a Monday because their weekend is over and might not have been all that good and by noon on a Thursday they're thinking about the weekend and even count down til finishing time on a Friday. Wednesdays are a bit of a no-mans land but are ok as a safeguard. Is that ok for you? All this information was in the news recently when someone did a survey about how people's emotions range on different days of the week and this is just a general summary. I guess no day is a good day to ask for money but it's worth a try anyway. Good luck :) |

It depends on what bank you use and sometimes, even what branch you go to. You can call in or drop by and ask when is the best time to meet with him/her. They may offer you bank loan info online so make sure you've read their site so you can appear well informed.

In my Bank, the Bank Manager doesn't handle loans directly. There are customer service representatives who will take you're application and pass it onto the loan committee. BUT.... if you want to see the Manger, he/she (depending on the branch) is very accessible.

Any day, because whether its Monday, Tuesday, etc they will still look at your account, see what you have going in and coming out and then it gets entered into a computer and Head Office gives the ok or not anyway.

Never. However, you should not go see your bank manager and make it look like you're asking your parents for a loan.
Invite them to lunch. Over lunch talk about shiyat. Bring up the fact that times are tough and let them offer the answer. Quite often they are listening to you for a way for them to find an opportunity anyways. If they make a suggestion like... "hmmm have you thought of conoslidating your bla bla bla"... Then say "ammmm, no, how does that work?"
Let them walk you right to the bank vault and pick out the $100 bills yourself. |
