What is the FASTEST way to build up good credit?
Is it the higher the amount I purchase and the more i pay per month ? Or is it just the fact of paying regulary?

It's timely payments, and credit paid off. Try charging small amounts, and then paying them off right away.

The best way is to purchase something terribly inexpensive and pay it off in full when the bill comes. Your credit will reflect someone who pays their balance off everytime, and the lowly amount of your purchases will never be known...

(My Mom did this when my parents divorced in the 70's. She bought a pair of pantyhose ($2.00) each month for six months, paying off the whole balance every time the bill came. Within the six month period, she went from no credit to great credit and had a high limit.)

Pay regularly, pay off the card quickly and keep a zero balance.

If you have to buy something, pay it off the next month.

Don't close credit accounts, that lowers your score as well.

You should also consider trying to buy a car if you don't already have one.

Making those payments on time and regularly will boost your credit too.

Of course, don't do that if you can't afford it!

Your credit score is an arbitrary number based on several subjective and objective things.

One big issue is debt to income ratio, another is making payments on time, etc.

The easiest, safest way to build your score is to take out a small non-credit card debt, and pay it off over time, on time. (Oddly. making bigger, faster payments does not help the score as much as just over the minimum over some time.)

The 'Catch 22' is that basically, to build your credit, you need to go into debt a little and throw away some money on interest payments!

Always, and I stress ALWAYS, pay when payment is due. This is a signal you are reliable, plus it avoids late fees and saves additional interest charges. If at all possible, in the case of credit cards, use them only if you know you can pay them IN FULL at the end of your month. That way there's no interest to pay and you can keep that interest money in YOUR pocket instead of theirs.

I've been building really good credit quickly by paying more times within the month the payment is due--especially as early or close to the date you receive the statement online/ through mail. So, instant, early and more frequent payments are my suggestion. Good luck!

Go buy a new bed... it's just the point that you make payments the more you pay something like a cell phone or a couch at a furnature store or a car it's all credit but whatever you do don't skip a payment and aj1964 for instance if you just go buy something it don't touch your crdit score it's the payments

Pay your bills on time for about 6 months and you will see a change in your credit score

Akbar B
Just pay regularly and on time and your credit will shoot up in 6 months.

to raise my credit score?

1. Always pay on time or ahead of time.
2. maintain low balances on credit cards
3. keep your total potential debt to earnings load low - If you have a card with a $15000 credit line, you may ask them to reduce it to something more realistic, like $5000.
4. I was told by an underwriter that having just two cards, a major credit card (VISA, MC) and a consumer card (Sears, best buy, etc...) is the best mix for revolving credit.
5. You should have a recent history of both installment or term (Car or house loans) and revolving credit.

Get a secured card from Capital One or some other company. This means that you send them money and they will send you a credit card with a matching limit. Use the card, but pay the bill as it becomes due and in no time, you will have many offers.

"Buiilding credit can be done in many ways. If you are disappointed at your loan application being turned down, it is mainly because of absence of credit history. You should learn how to do build your credit.

Do not buy unnecessary items. If you are looking to build credit start spending properly.

If you see any errors in your bills or credit, reports, contact the concerned persons immediately.

If you have purchased an item using your your credit card that later turned out to be defective or gave poor service, then you need not pay the charges. But you have to dispute the charges with the parties that were responsible for the act. If they do not replace the item or compensate you for a service or product, you are justified in refusing the payment."

Building a good credit can be done in various ways. If you are fed up of the collectors tirelessly chasing you to pay your debts or if you are disappointed at your loan application being turned down, because of absence of credit history, you should learn how to do build your credit. The most important thing to remember is not to buy unnecessary items. Do not convert your ‘want’ into ‘need’, as it can drag you deeper in debt. If you are looking to build credit and do not have any history, set your priorities properly.
