Do you have mortgage? If you have mortgage,LOC,credit cards and other loans I would recommend to go on consolidation. But you have to research bank to bank and check the lowest interest.You can also check website about financial and you can see which bank offers the lowest interest. When you consolidate you save a lot because of the interest. My advise DON'T GO TO ANY FINANCIAL ADVISOR OR CONSULTANT THAT OFFERS FREE ,NO OBLIGATION SERVICES IT'S NOT TRUE. They also charge while you can do it on your own. You have internet and that's your tool to research. |

I went through www.incharge.org
They lowered the interest rate, sent my payments (dispersed between five different cards) ON TIME every month!! They did charge me 9.00 per month till I called and asked them if I HAD to pay that...they said no it is like a donation, so After two months I paid NOTHING on top of the money that went to my cards!! I know that every penny went to my accounts, because I still got the statements, and I PAID them off in the end....EARLY!!! It is an EXCELLENT company to work with!! I wish you luck!! |

If you do consumer credit counsling. LOTS of companies look at that as similar to filing bankruptcy, So I would have to disagree with that one. To be honest all these place that say that they lower your rates and save you money do things you can do on your own.
All they do is contact the companies, close your accounts and make settlements with them. Then when you send them your money to make a payment to the cards, they put your money in an account and pay which ever card they feel like it first. Many times they make a payment over a month late which in turn will start to destroy your credit.
There is no easy way out of debt unless you have a home to refinance, so you can use the equity, and make all the credit cards tax deductible by rolling them into a mortgage, so this way you get a better return from the IRS, and save money on a monthly basis in the mean time.
Other than that I would say budget your money well and payoff the cards on your own. This way your credit won't suffer as bad. |
