I think NO CARD is the best card! Unless you have a steady job then I would apply for one through your local bank or a line of credit only.. Be Careful!
Good Luck! |

Try to avoid getting a credit card at all in college. Thats how people get into debt. If you must, find the card with the lowest interest rate and remember to always pay if off each month and always make the payment on time. This will establish some credit for you. |

Citibank MTV U Student Visa. I have one and it is GREAT! First, your parents don't need to cosign, you don't need a minimum income (or any at all), and you get HUGE points to use on the thankyounetwork.com. I've already picked up alot of stuff for my dorm room for free just by buying the stuff I need from day to day (food/books/etc). Check it out. |

Something with a super low limit. You don't want to get yourself into debt when you are in college. My husband and I started out with one credit card, and are still paying for it. If you can avoid credit, please do it!! |

None. You'll end up owing too much money in the end. Get a debit card from your bank. Will help control spending. |

get a card with a low limit,,,, learn how to handle your money first than worry about credit cards...
there is not such thing as a best credit card for anyone..... keep that in mind..
cards do have perks but it really defeats the purpose credit cards should be paid off in full every month and should used the correct way |

Citi® Bronze®/AAdvantage® MasterCard®is by far the most widely used card. It is essential for regular travelers with average credit. Its reward program gives you an additional mile per $2 spent on the card. You can collect up to 25,000 miles annually, and can be redeemed for flights on partner airlines, hotel accommodations throughout the world, and car rentals. Additional benefits are: zero liability for unauthorized transactions, travel accident insurance and various Internet account associated services. The card does not charge any annual fee. But the drawback is the minimum APR cap for cash advances, set at 19.99%. |

No credit card is the best credit card. Use cash or a debit card instead. Seriously. Think about it. Why would anybody get one? People get credit cards to buy stuff they can't afford with money they don't have to impress people they don't even like. Without a credit card, you learn how to spend only money you have, which makes you far more disciplined in how you spend money. Believe me, living debt-free may not look glamorous but takes a lot of unnecessary stress out of your financial life by not having one. |

Your wallet. If it is not made of paper and doesn't have a president's face on it. Don't carry it. You will spend an average of 18% more when you use a credit card than when you pay with cash. Check out daveramsey.com before you make the costly mistake of getting even one credit card. |

NONE, LOL, no not really but one with 500 dollar limit. Low interest and a major one like visa or master card, apply for one at your bank they will give you the best option. get one with a limit of just enough to buy books if financial aid doesn't come in or to buy gas to get to class just in case.
the best thing to do is too create a budget gas, rent, laundry, entertainment, tuition for the year ,books.
then withdrawal spendable amount at the beginning of the week and don't spend any more. remember you won't like paying triple for that latte that you used your credit for sophmore year when your fourty with a family and carreer or paying triple (because of intrest and late payments ) for the store credit card you got the latest fashion with or the keg party you went too |

My opinion is that the best card for a college student is called a debit card. Don't get in the habit of paying with money you don't have. However, if you don't trust my good intentions, check out Bankrate.Com, an independent reviewer of credit cards ranked by interest rate, payback options, annual fees, etc. |
