go to money mart and get a pre paid master card. they will give u a mastercard and u load money onto it. When all the money is spent on it you just go back to money mart and put more money on it. The card is awsome if u arnt able to get approved at a bank because of bad credit. |

Orchard Bank. They are a division of Household bank. We have gone through them. They are great at helping you with rebuilding and giving you increases based upon your payment history.
Another one we have used is Aspen. I have not had issues with them at all, and just like Orchard, they are very helpful in helping you rebuild. The only draw-back I have with Aspen is their online services. |

The pre-paid credit cards are typically for poeple with bad credit or no credit. They build up their credit using those types of ccs. However, a credit card is a credit card... notice the word credit in the main title. |

A secured credit card then work your way up to unsecured credit. Only make small purchases that you can pay off each bill. I hear over a year of doing this can greatly improve your credit score. |

A lot of credit card companies aren't willing to take the risk on people with bad credit. It's a vicious cycle- you need credit to improve your credit rating, but without a good credit rating, you can't get approved for new credit. I've been there myself.
There are credit cards designed for people with bad credit, but you are going to have to expect to pay higher interest rates than those with good credit and often you will have to pay a yearly fee as well. The upside to this is that most of these companies start you off with a small balance at first, so you can't get too carried away :) You have to use the card though- charge a little at a time and pay it off every month!!! (otherwise you just begin the cycle all over again) Once you start showing a steady payment history, your credit will start to improve. (You have to use a card that reports to a credit bureau though) Just use your credit wisely!
When I had bad credit I qualified for an Imagine MasterCard (I think you can apply at http://www.creditoffernow.com/imaginecard ) Like I said, the terms aren't going to be the best, but if you follow my advice and use the card wisely you can definitely start to improve your credit rating. Good luck!! :) |

The best credit card is no credit card. But if you have to have one the best would be Visa and do a search on it!! |

Major credit card issuers like Discover, American Express and Chase offer a credit card for bad credit holders. A 'shopping' card offers you an unsecured line of credit from specific sellers. Use these cards to increase your credit rating, since the credit bureaus will be informed about your timely payments. |

The best credit card for people with bad credit is the same card for everyone. No credit card. People swoon over what sort of card they have. What their credit score is. What their limit is. You already have a bad payment history the very last thing that you need is another payment.
Think about all the trouble that you have had paying your debts. Ask around to see if any one is really glad to get that credit card bill in the mail. When you buy on credit you spend more than you would have with cash. You pay a higher purchase price and then pay more in interest payments. You buy more stuff that you don't need.
Using cash takes more work on the front end then just using a card then paying on the back end. However once you use a budget then you will feel like you got a raise. When you plan your spending then you will buy less and spend less when you feel the actual pain of letting those twenties go to the cashier. However you will be happier because you will probably gave him one or two less than you would have if you would have used the card. Plus you will have saved another twenty by not paying interest on the purchase.
When you wait and save for you larger purchases you can keep an eye out for the real bargains and jump on them because you will have cash on hand to make the deal.
Normal is credit. Normal is broke. Be weird pay cash. |
