You can't legally clean your credit. Don't ever pay someone to fix your credit. They can't do anything for you that you can't do for yourself.

Repairing your credit takes time and can often feel like an uphill battle. That's why people are so willing to pay someone else to "make it all go away'.

Here are some articles written by myself and other mortgage professionals based on what we've learned:

Yes you can legally clean up your credit.

If you hire a company to do it for you, be extremely careful and thoroughly check that company out. Many of those types of companies could leave you in worse shape than you are now.

You can do it yourself and save the money that you would pay those companies.

I would suggest that you go to the site I've listed and do some reading. It is a "free" do it yourself credit repair site.

First, ask you mom how she did it. i would reccomend calling those you owe and deal with your balances. a lot of times you can "settle" for less than you owe, just make sure you get a letter saying they will temove bad credit ratings from the credit services. third you could try a credit union , especially if you can make arrangements through your employers payroll dept to automaticalll deduct payments

I know of no legal way to clean your credit. Your credit is based on your earnings, your outgo and your previous transactions. It takes time, and being fiscally responsible to clean up your credit.

You can too legally clean your credit. There are specific actions you can take that are well within your legal right. They are designed as protection for the consumer. Companies that clean your credit for a fee, simply do things for you, that you can do yourself, but they already have the systems set up, so they can simply do it faster. For example, they have templates already in use, so all they have to do slap your name in their computer and all of the letters, addresses, and such print out automatically.

They have also done research and keep track of what works, and what doesn't. You can build your own shed in the backyard too, but to hire someone who does it for a living can build it in half the time, for half the cost and it will look twice as good. Better to let her build your shed, while you spend your time and resources doing what you're best at. Same holds true for credit cleaning services.

However, there are alot of scam artists out there and one of the latest scams is credit repair. Make sure you check references, and do your normal homework that you would do before doing business with anyone.

THERE ARE SEVERAL THINGS THAT MAKE YOUR CREDIT SCORE. REVOLVING AND INSTALLMENT DEBT. NUMBER OF TRADE LINES. LENGTH OF TIME OF ACCOUNTS. AND THE NEGATIVES, LIKE COLLECTIONS, OR CHARGED OFF ITEMS. FIRST CONTACT ANY CREDITOR THAT HAS NOT TURNED YOU INTO COLLECTIONS. REACH A SETTLEMENT, ON ACCOUNT CHANCES ARE IF IT IS OVER 6 MONTHS THEY WILL TAKE ANYTHING IT HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN OFF. GET A SECURED CREDIT CARD TO START MAKING POSITIVE MARKS ON THERE. THEN ADDRESS COLLECTIONS OR CHARGE OFF'S ITS KINDA TRICKEY WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY HURT YOU MORE WHEN YOU PAY THEM AND MAKE THE ACTIVITY DATE ON THEM MORE RECENT. JUST A FEW PLACES TO START.

There is a company out of South Dakota that you can find at Newwestcc.com. They specialize in removing derogatory items from your credit report. They are inexpensive and really do get results. Some things cannot be removed until the 7 or 10 year time limit has expired. Things like Bankruptcies and civil judgements. Go on line and you can read all about their services and what they have to offer, Sometimes it takes less than 30 days to have many of the items removed. I have referred many people over the years and have only heard good feedback.

negotiate and pay old debts and pay current bills on time. Your credit will improve and you don't have to worry about a collection agency calling you 2 years down the road asking for there money.
